Woman tortured for years in Poland

I've been following the story of this woman discovered in a shed in Poland. She was kept captive after meeting a man on the internet and he tortured and raped her for several years.

She was discovered when she went to hospital with a dislocated shoulder. The monster removed her lips and teeth.

Apologies for the Daily Heil link.

Woman 'kept as sex slave' by 'Poland's Josef Fritzl' had teeth removed

The disturbing new details about the suffering of the woman alleged to have been held captive for four years by a rapist monster emerged from the medical reports of the doctors who raised the alarm.

That's horrific, there just aren't the words, that poor poor woman. I don't usually believe in the death penalty, but I cannot see any reason for that man to be kept alive.

It's so, so shocking I cannot begin to imagine what that woman went through. He did experiments on her and hosed her down with cold water.

She was admitted to hospital several times but no one took any action. The woman had no teeth or lips and the hospital didn't call the police. She confided in a patient who informed doctors.

The hospital needs investigating!! How could they have not helped her??

Why did they need other patients to sound the alarm when she was sat there covered in bruises with no lips??!!

Gettingitalldone · 06/09/2024 14:36

They took her baby?? WTF??? How on earth after what she has been through could they do that to her ? They should have been housed safely in a mother and baby unit ?

Gettingitalldone · 06/09/2024 14:38

I can’t believe that she presented with so many injuries and had a baby taken against her wishes and nobody realised ? It seems to have been absolutely blatantly obvious it was a case of abuse ? How dreadful

Lastminuteisinit · 06/09/2024 14:40

For FUCK SAKE! HOW MANY TIMES?

WHY are some men so violent and totally depraved??

carrotcard · 06/09/2024 14:42

Did she have no lips when the hospital saw her previously or just the last time?this is so awful.

NeverMindTheBackProblems · 06/09/2024 14:43

The poor poor woman. Just when you think you've heard the worse that these bloody men can do they sink even lower.

DeCaray · 06/09/2024 14:44

She was not kept completely locked up but went out and about with him including previous trips to hospital.

It was only this time that she managed to speak to other patients.

I'm amazed given her condition that nothing was done on previous visits.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 06/09/2024 14:51

He must have been very sure she wouldn't raise the alarm, but I agree, the hospital should definitely have done so. Horrific.

Ihateboris · 06/09/2024 14:58

Why do so many men hate women so much? I fucking despair. I'm so glad I don't have daughters. My heart breaks for that poor woman, and the 100s of others abused by monsters

Wwyd2025 · 06/09/2024 15:03

No way did his parents not step foot in that barn for 5 years or get suspicious, they should be trailed too.

MumApril1990 · 06/09/2024 15:09

I don’t understand why doctors wouldn’t have reported her injuries to the police and social services, but just had a chat with her?! Is there no safeguarding in Poland?

PrettyFlyforaMaiTai · 06/09/2024 15:16

Urgh his parents are already victim blaming. “Why didn’t she scream”/ “why didn’t she knock”. I could well turn it on them and ask “how did you not know he was holding someone captive on your own property” or “why did you bring him up to think he could dominate and torture women”, but I won’t. The blame is solely on the perpetrator (and any possible accomplices).

That poor poor woman. I hope she can heal but the fact that she has been admitted to a psychiatric hospital makes me think she has a long road to recovery.

I don't understand it at all. They say in the article that staff had spoken to her and she insisted she wasn't being hurt so 'their hands were tied'.

So I'm assuming in Poland that they simply leave victims to decide for themselves if they want to carry on being abused. Instead of doing what anyone with common sense would do and raise the alarm.

Fucking hell!!!

It sounds awful but it’s stories like this which makes me wish I never had DC.
I hate to think of them having to live amongst monsters like this 💔

It also makes me hope kids like Madeline McCann died without suffering.

I can imagine there are lots of other women and children living in similar circumstances but just haven’t been found out about yet.

I think even in the U.K., it’s only been relatively recently that the police and other authorities have begun taking domestic abuse more seriously and intervening - previously, if there were no children involved, the broader view would have been that if a woman didn’t want to report anything and said she wanted to stay with her partner / go home, that was her choice.

Choochoo21 · 06/09/2024 15:34

Unpopular opinion -

But I strongly believe that men should not be allowed to stay in hospitals overnight with their partners, especially after having a baby.

These women are so scared/conditioned that they do not speak up.

Its only when they are forced to stay in hospital without the partners, do these things often come out.

Agreed. All pregnant, birthing and new mothers should have regular access to private times with HCP. This situation is rare, thankfully, but it's heartbreakingly common for domestic violence to kick off, or worsen , during pregnancy and the neonatal stage.

Velvetandgold · 06/09/2024 16:22

Also I think it's reasonable as a woman, to not want to sleep on a ward with random men (who have no reason to be there because they aren't ill) in the same room with me. They might be someone else's loving partner but to me they're a random man and it makes me feel unsafe, because they could just as easily be someone else's abuser who'd take advantage of anyone else too if they thought they could get away with it .

That poor woman. I'm glad she's been helped now. PP is right it's only in recent times domestic abuse was taken out of the victims hands and the police could take action regardless. Before that it was upto the victim to report the crime and continue with the legal process, possibly whilst remaining living with their abuser (until/unless he was sent to prison or they had friends/family who'd take them in).

In the article I read (in Polish) it said that he forced her to give the baby up for adoption. It's not a baby that was with her all this time.

Precipice · 08/09/2024 13:41

Also, the removal of the lips and teeth appears to be a mistranslation. Polish sources talk of him inserting a torch between her lips and tearing her lips (but don't talk of 'removal') and I can't see mention of teeth in the Polish articles I've read. This does not at all diminish her suffering.

EmeraldDreams73 · 08/09/2024 13:52

Dear God. That poor, poor woman. Did the medical staff on previous occasions suspect abuse? They must have done. If their hands really were tied because she was too frightened, how the hell can any country's law put the onus solely on the abused person to report it? I'm speechless. That repulsive creature needs putting to sleep.
