Look here

So, can we carry on doing it here instead?

caveat about Sarah Kennedy - I only listen to her for ten minutes in the morning. Perhaps if you are forced to listen to her for longer, she loses her appeal somewhat

maidamess · 15/04/2008 21:18

Well I'm going to stick my head above the parapet and say I like Ol' Bunty. She does witter on, but I find it soothing of a morning as I'm waking up.

Yes she's a dotty old bint but she takes the mickey out of herself and is very intelligent...unlike that cretin Steve Wright and his fawning sycophants!

But of course my fave is Terry the Togmeister.

MoreSpamThanGlam · 15/04/2008 21:19

I would be GREAT at popmaster...

maidamess · 15/04/2008 21:19

Well done Squonk! Sw's to you!!

southeastastra · 15/04/2008 21:20

i'm not up early enough for sarah k either, wogan plays nice music but witters on a bit

the sat night shows are excellent on 2, buddy holly the other week then joni mitchell

Hulababy · 15/04/2008 21:23

I don't mind Sarah Kennedy either. I tend to listen to her from 6:50 to 7:30 on my way to work, and then to Terry Wogan from then to about 8:05am. After that Radio 2 is generally on in my office too during the day.

maidamess · 15/04/2008 21:24

Mark radcliffe is hilarious.

wineplease · 15/04/2008 21:25

Steve twat Wright makes my blood boil. Can't a campaign to remove him from the air waves happen? Much prefered Lisa Tarbuck when she was covering.

southeastastra · 15/04/2008 21:26

steve wright makes me laugh and i hated him in the 80s, though they could lose the old woman.

i really dislike chris evans. stuart maconie is great when he stands in for drivetime.

maidamess · 15/04/2008 21:27

Yes I preferred Lisa Tarbuck too!...She's intelligent and SW is THICK

marina · 15/04/2008 21:29

Sarah Kennedy at her finest

wineplease · 15/04/2008 21:30

Stuart Maconie could take over radio 2 and I would be more than happy . Gutted that his saturday show was cancelled...

Now don't get me started on Richard Allison...

marina · 15/04/2008 21:31

Radio 2 should be wall to wall Stuart Maconie, Mark Radcliffe, Jools and Steve Lamacq. Missed Liza but I bet she was excellent.
David Jacobs is the worst though. "Our kind of music" - shudder.

maidamess · 15/04/2008 21:33

But She's unintentionally controversial...unlike that great 'wit' Chris Moyles, who is so sexist as well as everything else, and no one moans about him do they?

southeastastra · 15/04/2008 21:33

what happens to it on friday night? it all goes weird though i enjoyed the bob hope show documentary thing.

marina · 15/04/2008 21:35

maidamess, that's because he's on Radio 1, which has been largely pants for years

Oh Malory, that Guy Henry, her showbiz mate. Its so cheesily naff, thats why I love it.

waffletrees · 15/04/2008 21:41

Chris Moyles was the reason I switched to radio 2 - I am officially passed it.

I quite liked Aled Jones covered for Ken Bruce the other week.

Tinker · 15/04/2008 22:26

What are people liking about Sarah Kennedy??? I only hear her because alarm comes on for Terry.

I've become very disappointed in Jeremy Vine. Hate the way he reads out comments in a very loaded, judgemental way. But, still have a weakness for him, suspect he's a bit of a purrer.

Have forgiven Chris Evans. And Ask Elvis on Steve Wright does make me snigger

OP posts:
DontCallMeBaby · 15/04/2008 22:35

Waffletrees - snap. It was that Moyles person that finally drove me into the warm, welcoming beige embrace of Radio 2.

I do dislike Sarah Kennedy though. And Lulu. Ugh. Jeremy Vine does terrible things to my blood pressure. And I actually have to shout very loudly to drown out the horror when Steve Wright does his extremely witty impression of Elaine Paige.

Hm.

Must buy more CDs.

southeastastra · 15/04/2008 23:20

no lobby for more stuart mconie

Tinker · 15/04/2008 23:25

I love Stuart Maconie. He's one of those not pretty men I could fancy just on the strength of his personality and taste in music.

SlartyBartFast · 15/04/2008 23:29

i do like sarah kennedy, though only really listen to 10 minutes, was forced to listen to her when in labour, early stages, so good memories

i like that wednesday evening my cardy, irish/celtic music.

used to hate steve wright and chris evans but like them both now, particularly ce driving home.

i can't do pop master at all,
