I was most amazed at the bloke who had time to tie his wife and 3 children to the tops of coconut palms using towels while they were up there on top of the water - he must have been in the boy scouts! Story here.

Actually I think there are about 4 of him - "The part-time firefighter said his experience as a scuba diver and mountaineer had taught him to keep a cool head in the emergency.

After the tide withdrew, the plumbing and heating engineer leapt into action"!!!

So awful. Apparently he had only proposed to her an hour or so before the wave struck Just can't imagine how she will manage - how any of them will manage.

Just read the story on BBC of the woman who has lost her three children and goes looking for them every morning - in vain hope. She has nothing left - no home and no possessions, not even a single photo of her babies. Just how do you go on?
