From the express group - about the false and 'grossly defamatory' reports published after Madeleine went missing.

Good. IMHO. Good

about time

hate express

moodlumthehoodlum · 18/03/2008 22:14

Should hope so. It was like a hate campaign.

VeniVidiVickiQV · 18/03/2008 22:14

About fricking time.

The Express get away with far too much IMO.

ButterflyBessie · 18/03/2008 22:19

Great.

I stopped reading/buying anything which I know is published by Richard Desmond as a one woman protest over their reportage

This news will not tempt me back

Don't buy/read OK or the Express, hit them where it hurts (tossers)

evie99 · 18/03/2008 23:11

I am pleased at this belated, but much needed, act of kindness towards Kate and Gerry. It is going to be awful for them in the build up to May 3rd this year, although still hoping for some good news.

Beenleigh · 18/03/2008 23:20

about blardy time too, and hopefully this will serve to give the some of the people on here who were just as guilty of this poisonous speculation pause for thought!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ShinyHappyChickensLayingEggs · 18/03/2008 23:22

I don't think you're "allowed" to start new threads that relate in any way to the McCanns. People will start throwing toys out of the collective Mumsnet pram...

Why has the express changed its tune, then?

BoysOnToast · 18/03/2008 23:38

there is aa article in grazia by the mother of the girl killed in goa, asking why its always the mothers fault...

PABLOP · 18/03/2008 23:46

about time It really annoys me that tabloids get way with giving their opinions and supposdley intelligent people quoting it as fact. Grazia is a scummy mag too

PABLOP · 18/03/2008 23:47

~Littlelapin, Wanderering trolley is looking for you in chat

BoysOnToast · 18/03/2008 23:47

grazia is pretty dull, ill give you that. i was suckered into a subscription by the lure of freebies [mug].

Good news. Don't like The Express. This its as bad as The DM. And why is OK magazine so obsessed with Kerry Katona (as an aside)?

talkingmongoose · 19/03/2008 07:50

Bubble, because the Mcann's lawyers have jumped on them.

DaisySteiner · 19/03/2008 07:54

It still helped them sell more papers though. I hope they will also be making a sizable donation to a missing children's charity.

elesbells · 19/03/2008 07:56

Oh yeah, sorry we caused you the worst kind of distress and as good as accused you of murdering your child.

It will sell papers that one.

AtheneNoctua · 19/03/2008 08:52

There is apparently a "substantial" payment to be made to the Find Madeleine Fund.

GOOD!

Now maybe the Portuguese authorities should step up to the plate and give their apologies!

hecate · 19/03/2008 08:54

Good. I despise trial by media. Guilt or innocence is for the law to decide.

morningpaper · 19/03/2008 09:01

GOOD

edam · 19/03/2008 09:03

Ditto. And I think saying the Express is as bad as the DM is an insult to the DM, tbh!

Oliveoil · 19/03/2008 09:07

GOOD

bastards

morningpaper · 19/03/2008 09:11

Mail Watch - slight OT but I can't believe that they have run massive front-page stories on the police chief's suicide and his 'mistress' - not happy with the current body-count, obviously. Much sympathy to his family, they must be suffering so much. Wicked.
