Mumsnet in the Times

Here's a nice article about Mumsnet - make way for the newbies.

And blimey don't Justine and Carrie have a lot of children?

OP posts:
ShinyHappyPeopleHoldingHands · 15/03/2008 15:43

Yeah I admitted it!! I need recognition for that if nothing else!!

[needy emoticon]

Buda · 15/03/2008 15:45

Well I liked the article and positively preened that I 'know' such celebrities! I have a sad life - getting off on the fact that I have imaginary friends is a bit sad isn't really?

Who 'owns' the Arsenal fans then Justine and Carrie - DS saw the photo and wondered who was wearing 'his' kits!

MP - am heading your way in July! Our move is happening sooner rather than later so we are doing another reccie. Are now hoping to move to Zummerzet in 2 years.

Desiderata · 15/03/2008 15:49

Yes, Shiny. You admitted it, which makes you big and brave and noble. Not unlike me, in fact

Desiderata · 15/03/2008 15:50

You still aiming for Zumerzet, then, Buda? I thought the Devonians were trying to get the better of you the other day.

Pah!

Buda · 15/03/2008 15:53

Still going for Zumerzet Desi! I told the Devonians off. I'm sure tis lovely but we have decided on Zumerzet and it took bloody long enough to get to that point. Am happy now we have a plan so am not buggering it up!

Desiderata · 15/03/2008 15:56

Good! I think some of them were missing the point that your dh has a spiritual need to return!

Lapin will come to me for her Somerset induction. (Cider and Chitterling )

BumperliciousIsStillNotDressed · 15/03/2008 16:22

LL I wonder if you know my friend, her dh is in the navy (away at the moment in the Gulf) and she used to live in Gosport (about 2 years ago), now lives in yeovil, has a little boy (3 yo) and recently a little girl (4 or 5 mo).

Probably not, it's probably like Americans asking us if we know their friend "John Smith in Liverpool" , but just wondering if it was a small community there.

lilybubble · 15/03/2008 16:23

spot on, littlelapin!! Nobody has ever usually heard of it!! That's impressive

Desiderata · 15/03/2008 16:24

oooh, Sheik, you're dangerously close to me [evil grin]

I'm a bit more Severn estuary, though!

Desiderata · 15/03/2008 16:25

No, I've never heard of Wincanton. I've heard of their races, though

lilybubble · 15/03/2008 16:28

Got to love Wincanton races - brilliant day out!

SheikYerbouti · 15/03/2008 16:28

Oooh, Desi, where do you live then?

I went out with an American who used to live in Wincanton. I duymped him after he started sleeping in my front garden

Its just a PR puff piece, to publicise the forthcoming MN books. Seems like every time I open a newspaper I see one of the MN proprietors flogging their wares.
(Bet they're looking into selling the site, too... )
