I didn't, mainly because I was so nauseous, but my mother did, and it doesn't get more bourgeois than she is.

when i was in U.C.H. just after had my DD2, i met a woman in LABOUR no less, having a fag on the front steps!

As middle class women obviously don't smoke this is of no import whatsoever

Labour would have been a lot less stressful if i'd have smoked I think.

my friend saw said woman who was smoking in labour, a few months later, having picnic in park , all looked ok but that doesnt mean a thing!

The Times report goes on about low birthweight but what about other factors? All those chemicals coursing through a growing baby's bloodstream can't be doing it any good.

SSH-i gave up smoking when i was pregnant with ds1,and didnt touch a fag through the whole pregnancy untill day 2 of being induced when i was in so much pain all i could think about was having a smoke,and i ended up going into the smoking room and bumming one off another woman

I had a fag a day thoughout all my pg's. My babies were all lardy arses.
That proves it then really
