to give the papers something to put on their front pages on a quiet day? It's bizarre, 10 year old titbits of gossip ending up all over the media.

It's being played out in the public arena as she was deemed public property, and, playing devil's advocate here, if my child were killed in a road collision under questionable circumstances I would leave no stone unturned to find out what happened and why.

That said, I just think it's got absolutely nothing to do with me. Princes William and Harry have got to sit through people they've probably never met declaring to the world that their mother did this or said that, with charlatans professing to know exactly what was going through her mind and telling 'truths' about her private life that can never be substantiated. I just find the whole thing a crying shame for them. I'll never forget the look on those boys' faces at their mother's funeral and I can't help but think that this is dragging out some of that pain yet again.

She's dead. Let her rest in peace.
