I found Mumsnet

I know now that labour really does feel like you need to do a great big number two, just like my mum said.

Magicmayhem · 28/12/2007 09:41

I brought a dog and it made me realise that when we change the clock in october it only gets lighter in the mornings for a few weeks then it gets darker again due to the shortest day....

FlamesparodyOfAChristmasName · 28/12/2007 09:44

Ooh I learnt to do a tax return, and about import duties and stuff

JoyeuxNoelBiggy · 28/12/2007 09:49

That if a town has two football teams, they never play their home games on the same day!

edam · 28/12/2007 09:51

That my 62 year old mum, who this time last year was swimming 5 miles a week, would be suffering from a rare and potentially fatal disease.
Easier to cope with since I found Mums net.

Sidge · 28/12/2007 10:38

That it is possible to exist on very broken sleep of no more than 4 hours at a time whilst working part time and bringing up 3 children.

That Maybelline mousse foundation hides dark shadows and improves the look of baggy skin very well.

That the journey to Australia is a veeeeeeeeeery long one.

Maidamess · 28/12/2007 10:41

That I can fly for 24 hours by myself.

That Robin Thicke is cool

That I can become addicted to a website.

Celery · 28/12/2007 10:41

that every now and then a fanbloodytastic year comes along that makes you realise life is amazing after all. Last time was 1995, so it was a long time coming!

Maidamess · 28/12/2007 10:42

Not in the news, sorry!

TinyTimsGangGawdBlessUs1andAll · 28/12/2007 10:43

Well, your recent eyelash curler thread was a revelation cod. I've been curling away too now and batting my sexy lashes with abandon.

lilibet · 28/12/2007 11:36

That I can be quite a bitter person and I really must try and change the way I feel and not harbour grudges (for years and years and years...................)

That I can stand up and deliver a talk to an audience of 80 on two hours notice

That (with a bit of encouragement from others on here) I can get through an OU course while working full time and looking aftr three children and dh studying

That if i had apid a bit more attention on here I mught now know about glittery eye liner! Does it not make you look like a groupie for Slade or Sweet? (Lilibet really showing her age there ) link, someone please?

soopermum1 · 28/12/2007 14:01

that i wasn't a crap worker, i just had a crap manager. took a new boss and ousting of previous boss and previous boss's boss to realise that.

oh yes, and i now know that life's too short for grudges, and that someone's rudeness to me is not a reflection on me but just makes the rude person look like an idiot. so i don't get bothered any more if someone 'disses' me.

this year, am extending my zen-like attitude to those w***s that play music with no headphones on the bus. that's gonna be a difficult one

HappyWoman · 28/12/2007 14:35

Loads about myself and that i am going to continue next year.

Infact that i am never going to stop asking myself questions.

cadeLaideInAManger · 28/12/2007 14:56

dd, 6, says she now knows about joined up writing and that she can reach the bathroom light pull

Pomi · 28/12/2007 15:09

TEUCHywithallthetrimmings · 28/12/2007 15:16

I now know that people make a place and that making new friends is hard work and often at the expense of old friends in other places

I've learned that I am a FANTASTIC procrastinator since working from home...

I've learned that their are children's programmes on no matter what hour...

Anna8888 · 28/12/2007 15:17

That very cold weather makes me utterly miserable (however warmly I dress), but that not everybody else feels that way at all.

That taking a lot of exercise does not necessarily do me much good. I'm better off with extra sleep.

That I would actually feel quite happy as well as wistful as my daughter learnt to speak and grow out of babyhood.

That lots of people really aren't very nice at all, even "underneath".

MrsGuyOfGisbourne · 28/12/2007 15:20

Courtesy of mumsnet some words I never knew before - eg 'fanjo' ( VERY usfeul!!! - why is this word not mainstream?) and also what a moon cup is.
I also, now now how to blow-dry my fringe straight, which if i had known as a teenager would have changed my life, but now just gives me quiet satisfaction

Arti · 29/12/2007 00:04

this year I became a mum for the first time and it is the most magical experience in the world.

PrismManchip · 29/12/2007 00:50

That ivf really doesn't work very often, unfortunately.

That I am not a great mother to a 3 yr old but am doing better with a 4 yr old.

That lego is better now than when I was a kid.

brimfull · 29/12/2007 00:52

I need to go to work for my sanity.

PrismManchip · 29/12/2007 00:56

I didn't know about Sphincter Law

Scramble · 29/12/2007 01:01

My husband shags silly young females.

My husband is a wanker.

I need to stop hiding away at work and be more socialble as they are really a nice bunch, was made most welcome on the night out.

Having exH as a boss is not going to be easy.

My kids will amaze me more and more each year.

That second packet of crisps eaten with dips will make me feel quite ill, every time I do it.

I am allright!
