Well, I received a letter stating that my details and children have been lost by Gov.

Sorry I spelt wondered wrong.

We have already put checks in progress but are seriously considering changing the bank account soon.

Been wanting to change the account for a while and this has just given us the push to do so. Think it might confuse the Child Benefit office a bit if we do this, but never mind !!!

Your thread title makes it sound like the Gov have lost your details AND lost your children ! Please tell me they haven't started losing children now!

Yes - we got the letter too. Not nearly grovelling enough for my liking.

I love the fact that it said it was a "personal" apology.

How is it personal when it's a form letter printed off 25 million times and not even pretend-signed with a screen-captured signature?! It's just a typed name at the bottom.

Mind you, this is from the same company who has a rather dubious definition of the word "secure".
