Archbishops of Canterbury & York

I bet it crossed the head's mind to wonder if they were real or not (Archbishopograms perhaps )

What a lovely story though

Not quite though, eh, RB?

I just googled around Blackburn diocese and found this bit:

No, not quite

Actually, my shoes matched the inside of their robes (surplice?) - a fact that the senior bish pointed out with much glee . He's fantastic fun.

Shows how times have changed for the CofE. When they have to travel in gangs.

"and there is a mist over Pendle this morning.."

OOH, how lovely, I can just imagine....you can see Pendle from my parents' house.
And what a great story

+Tom Wright has written some FANTASTIC books, I've used them for study and for sermon writing. He's written some really good articles which are on the web, including a great one on women in ministry

There's a +Alan at Buckingham. He has a pretty good blog that's readable:

My claim to fame? I was made a Eucharistic Minister by Cardinal Hume (when I was still RC, obviously).

RB - surplices are white - cassock maybe?

Did I mention I'm looking to get a cassock/surplice cheap?

Yes I have a book of his "Simply Christianity" very readable. It was a confirmation gift from my church.

Ahh, WW, that makes a lot of sense. So they would have known the school and probably the head teacher too.

I just had this mental image of a local resident saying "You know, that's the third time this month that the archbishops have been round. I wouldn't mind, but they've eaten all the biscuits again."
