Saw on the news yesterday that some woman objected to wounded soldiers using the local pool.

we get it when we take disabled kids to a pool too.

neverfree that is terrible did you complain?

tissy · 27/11/2007 20:42

certainly not true that children would be scared by seeing the injuries. My dd went up to an amputee at our swimming pool, and asked him if it hurt whn his leg came off! She was fscinated and had a really good talk with him!

OK, some children might be bothered by seeing people with healed burns, etc, but that is an ideal opportunity for their parents to explain things to them.

Amputees are disabled

Disabled people get benefits

All benefits claimants are sponging scumbags.

Therefore... all amputees are sponging scumbags.

It's so simple... when you're a complete f*ckwit.

Makes me want to send THEM to Afghanistan for a few months...

I spent time in Germany as a teenager at a time when there were still many wounded and disabled former servicemen. It had a profound effect on me: seeing the consequences of war on human bodies. This can only have been a good thing.

neverfree, that is so hurtful and awful.

Your poor DD, to be excluded like that.

It must have been upsetting for you all.

The other mothers should be ashamed of themselves.

As should the awful women in the linked article.
