Even if breastmilk does not make a child more intelligent, it still makes a child healthier. There are emotional benefits to nursing a baby as well. Prehaps the emotional benefits of nursing a child makes them brighter as well as the nutrician.

The recent documentary "Bringing up baby" showed wildly varying parenting styles. These life experiences must affect IQ as much as having good books, toys and a mum who is not suffering from severe postnatal depression.

how odd. i'm not disputing the study (just cursing the fact i wasn't breast fed now as i'd be smarter). i'm adopted so wasn't breast fed but would consider myself well educated and intelligent due to the work of my parents and importance of knwledge instilled in me by them. just wonder how much smarter i'd be if i'd been breast fed.
