So in light of JW tragic news, what about abortions?

On one hand, Christian and other religious groups are attacked for their stance against abortion because society in general believes that women should have dominion over their bodies and that they must have the right to choose whether or not to proceed with a pregnancy.

However, the JW religion is being attacked and abused because of their strongly held beliefs concerning what goes into their bodies.

With abortion, an unborn life is destroyed whereas with blood transfusion, an attempt is being made to save a life.

I wander how many of those villifying the JW religion also support the belief that it should be a woman's choice whether or not she proceeds with a pregnancy? If you support the latter, should you not also accept that individuals have the right to refuse a treatment in accordance with their beliefs because ultimately, it is their body is it not?

I'm not a JW btw.

A point I raised on the other thread

Either we have the right t o all our bodies our own or we don't. This goes far further than 'just' religious issues.

Agree. Can't help feeling that those who are against the JW religion are being rather sanctimonious and disingenuous, sadly.
