Can't find to link but just saw this on the BBC 1oclock news.

A woman collaped dying in her doorway and her 26yr old neighbour, far from ringing for help, instead decided to abuse her.

He urinated on her, threw water over her and covered her in shaving cream. All this he filmed on his mobile phone!
She later died.

Why would someone do such a thing? Poor, poor woman. They think she may have been conscious too! How utterly disgusting.

Whoever watched and let him get on with it should be charged with aiding and abetting the accused.

How would you react if your husband/son/daughter came home chuckling about seeing such a thing?

BrownSuga · 26/10/2007 15:27

it's hard to say, i don't really go out and about in this town. dh's workmates go out here and say it's a good night out and less violent than other towns around. I guess every town has it's seedy side. But from what I've seen I don't want my DS growing up here.

Blandmum · 26/10/2007 15:27

i don't think it is because of the area, or him being ex army. there are growing numbers of people who feel that the normal rules of society don't apply to them. They seem to think that they can act in whatever way they wish and that other people don't matter.

Sad.

It used to shock me, but I've known too many out of control children who's parents seem to think that only they have rights. like the mother who accused the school of over reacting when they excluded her ds for a month for pulling a knife on another child. She reasoned that we should have realised that he 'didn't mean it'

this man is monstrous and should have had far more than 3 years. Horrific.

BrownSuga · 26/10/2007 15:28

agree, those watching should be charged. isn't there a samaritan law or something in the states, they should have one here too.

SharpMolarBear · 26/10/2007 15:29

Surely they must at least regret it now?

CatIsSpooky · 26/10/2007 15:30

agree BS and clumsymum-the woman's family said the same thing. The crowd watching were just as guilty.

rahrahrahrahrah · 26/10/2007 15:31

That is shocking MB and very sad.

I grew up in a deprived area and went to a very rough school, the difference back then was that parents did take responsibility and were ashamed when their kids were involved in shoplifting, fighting etc. Now the generation I went to school with are the parents of the teenagers and unfortunately a lot of them just don't seem to care and will always try to shift the blame elsewhere by blaming the schools, police, society anyone other than themselves.

BrownSuga · 26/10/2007 15:34

...men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, self-assuming, haughty, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, disloyal, having no natural affection, not open to any agreement, slanderers, without self-control, fierce, without love of goodness.

sound familiar?

SueBarooeeooeeooooo · 26/10/2007 15:39

It does indeed, brownsuga. That Paul fella knew what he was talking about. Mind you, it's like that for a veeery long time now.

Blandmum · 26/10/2007 15:40

pshw I dunno, see a bright light on a road one day and 2000 years later people will still be quoting you......

SueBarooeeooeeooooo · 26/10/2007 15:43

lol MB. It could happen to any of us...

BarbieGirl · 26/10/2007 16:49

What an awful story. What the hell is going on in this country thats all we seem to hear is sickening stories - kids stabbing other kids and now this. To do this to anyone is bad enough but to do it to someone vulnerable like this woman was is unthinkable.

The bloke that done it looked like an evil scumbag the type to smack someone in the face for just looking at him .

I feel so very sorry for that womans family

LittleBellaLugosi · 26/10/2007 18:31

It was on the news that he was drunk at the time

Which is not very surprising. The question is whether all the bystanders were.
