Rita Ora Broke Lockdown Rules

Apparently Rita Ora had a birthday party in a London restaurant, which broke lockdown rules. She has issued an apology and referred to it as an error in judgement. I can't help thinking she's only sorry because she was caught (and fined £10,000).

I'm surprised the restaurant agreed to the party, but then again, I guess they're desperately trying to stay afloat and she probably offered £££ for their silence/complicity in breaking the rules.

@OverThinkingUnderDoing Interesting you mentioned celebs flying abroad. The other day I was talking to somebody who works at an RAF base. He said that he's seen various celebs flying out of the base, using chartered flights. I took a look and there is a website advertising chartered flights from the base to lots of places - you can hire a small 8 seat aircraft, or a block of seats on others, if you have enough money. I think the staff who work for these celebs are quite vulnerable, as any risks the celeb takes by travelling and socially mixing will carry an increased risk for any staff living with and/or working with them. I expect it's difficult for staff to say no to celebs who have an entitled attitude.

It’s an utter piss take, and as people rightly say she is only sorry as she got busted. We are being absolutely taken for fools with this nonsense about it being an impromptu gathering.

I don’t think Rita Ora is any worse than many other famous people atm, so many are absolutely taking the piss. I saw one couple (possibly TOWIE or similar) who had flown to somewhere exotic for essential work ‘promoting’ a hotel. So many have flown to Dubai/ Turkey for essential work 🙄. We’re being made absolute fools of and I don’t understand why more people aren’t angry at the entire hypocrisy of the whole thing.

Ive gone right off Rita Ora, stupid, arrogant woman who obviously thinks she's above the rules but z listers going to Dubai aren't don't anythin wrong are they? Isn't that allowed even under lockdown?

Yes Jamie Oliver, Joe Wicks and Sam Smith took a covid test and then all cuddled up together for a Christmas cooking show. Thousands of people pointed out how that wasn't safe, appropriate or within the rules, and how they should still be social distancing, but they didn't seem to care.

satnighttakeaway it’s not allowed unless it’s for work. Loads of Z listers seem to be going over there to host a party or open a paper bag then stay for a fortnight in a hotel. Apparently that is essential work.

Celebrities and rich people are in their own little world. I agree with the comment that it’s the staff that work with/for them that are vulnerable. They’re still flying all over the world not giving a fuck, having parties not giving a fuck, ‘quarantined’ (yeah right) in mansions while moaning and crying or bragging on social media. They’re pointless and narcissistic. All of them.

I can't bring myself to give a shit. She's no worse than all the people who went on holiday first chance they got, even though Covid hadn't disappeared, or anyone else who goes out to dinner, or sneaks a visit to their mum or will go out for one last drink tomorrow before the pubs shut (Wales).
Boris has got no business criticising - he set the standard when he refused to sack DC, not to mention having to self isolate a couple of weeks ago because he didn't socially distance from the MP who later tested positive.
