Yup, I'm that desparate.

AitchTwoOh · 27/09/2007 15:30

36, actually it would have been 89 or 90, thinking about it. i was at uni and he used to come to debates etc and do drinking. they all did, donald dewar, john smith and i hardly need add, charles kennedy...

Caroline1852 · 27/09/2007 16:40

I have met him too. I even cooked him dinner once.

NorthernRockCod · 27/09/2007 16:55

was it coq au vin

Tortington · 27/09/2007 16:56

he is an ugly cock head of the highest proportions

Caroline1852 · 27/09/2007 17:19

LOL - His relatives own a big sporting estate in the Scottish Highlands. I think he keeps quiet about his landed gentry credentials preferring instead to concentrate on his humble churchy background.

niceglasses · 27/09/2007 17:22

Yep much as I luurveeeeeeee him am getting bit tired of 'my father was a humble Proddy minister blah blah de blah....'

NorthernRockCod · 27/09/2007 17:51

do oyu think in this day and age it maeks a jot of difference hwta your parents did

i mean my dad is a vicar and look wher it got me

also shcool - god oyu dont choose them yourself do you?

its like" ah well he had a mamas na papas pram as a tot; showing his predilciton for italian food"

ahundredtimes · 27/09/2007 17:54

I quite like his Man from The Manse number.

is a bit like The Men from Uncle or something.

MrsMarvel · 27/09/2007 17:55

Sorry to be pedantic but the poll was that labour have the lead over the tories among women. Nothing to do with Gordon as a personality, or Gordon as a looker(!), I'm sure if the poll was about Gordon the results would be very different indeed.

niceglasses · 27/09/2007 17:58

Ahh much last fun MrsPendant.

niceglasses · 27/09/2007 17:59

much less

Jeeeeeeeeeezzz.

Anyway, I stick by my Mr Rochester thingy.

NorthernRockCod · 27/09/2007 18:02

not "much fewer" fun obv

niceglasses · 27/09/2007 18:06

Mrs Pendant? God what am I on? Two glasses of wine down, thats what.

MrsMarvel · 27/09/2007 18:08

Steady on bigglasses!

niceglasses · 27/09/2007 18:10

I know shocking. Its cos I haven't eaten today and its gone straight to the old noggin.

Am surprised Cameron is not more popular with the blue rinse brigade - but Brown is giving a very steady image.

Susianna · 27/09/2007 18:10

Was it not about his sex appeal then? I think he is rather beautiful personally

Sod how he runs the country!

NotAnOtter · 27/09/2007 18:12

Caroline 1852 'Thankyou' I have never been nominated before !!!!

Niecie · 27/09/2007 18:20

Better than Smarmy Blair but 'love' is putting it way too strongly.

I thought he had got that jaw dropping/bottom lip thing under control after he became PM but it seems to be creeping back again. I never hear what he says for watching him to see how under control it is.

The only time I warmed to him was when his children were born. He seemed so happy he was like another person.

NorthernRockCod · 27/09/2007 18:21

i dont careabout/ haev never noticedt he lip thing.

Niecie · 27/09/2007 18:24

It gives him the look of a goldfish. Not very attractive so I'm surprised by the poll.

MyBigFatAss · 27/09/2007 21:37

it is coming back, isn't it, neicie? i too am fascinated by it. it's like a perch making gasp for air. or a cod.

MyBigFatAss · 27/09/2007 21:38

must change name...

Nightynight · 27/09/2007 22:27

no no
no way

esp not with all these naff flag-waving ideas

did everyone see the bbc story about a slogan for Britain, and the suggestions that the public put forward?

ghastly - fortunately everyone else seemed to think so too.
