I think a news thread is ok but to sit & speculate sick things about a very sad situation is totally distasteful to say the least.

Have just heard that the papers outlining the case against the McCanns is to be passed to the public prosecutor, who will then decide on an arrest or what not.

Oh & in the statement passed by the police it said the "death" of Madeleine McCann

is there any reason why they cant use private investigators to keep up the search as they have appealed for the Police to do?

i still don't buy this theory of Madeleine having died in the apartment. The twins were there too, remember. It just doesn't add up.

I really do believe she was taken alive.

So sad for these poor parents. Having been told in such an awful way they the police believe their daughter is dead and then to be named as suspects. It would just be too much to bear

Amazing isn't it that when the Mccanns wanted the publicity they were happy to invite the media in. Now that they are suspects they feel they should be able to expect their privacy to be respected. Hmm you can't have it both ways.

I think they can have it both ways actually. They are only asking for their privacy to be respected, I doubt it will happen having witnessed what the media are like in this country but for their sake I hope they do leave them alone.

And my god yes I would have asked everyone including the media to assist with the search for my child if I had gone through what those poor parents have and are

a thread saying that the McCanns are home isn't the most compelling news story I've ever read . Interesting how it quickly turned into a reiteration of everything thats already been said by the predominantly same posters.

Just stating my point of view - not wishing to stifle free speech or anything.
