Just watched it. What a good looking family and such a sad situation. Let's hope someone can help give a new life in their own hour of dispair.

Glad to see you around! how are you feeling?

What changed the trend from 140 to 25 a year Misdee?, I would have imagined we would have grown more generous as a society rather than the other way around.

I have been checking Mumsnet everynight hoping for news of another call.

as medical procedures improve, more lives that used to be lost, are now being saved. which means that its great for them, but not good news for transplant patients. but we do need more people to sign up as donors and to let their next of kin know their wishes.

BreeVanDerCampLGJ · 13/08/2007 18:46

Ariticle on my uncle Misdee. There is a very chilling line in it.

Here

An interesting statistic is that you are more likely to require a transplant than become a Donor ? all the more reason to carry a donor card.?

Was that done in the Mater LGJ - they did their first double lung transplant recently on a young boy from Carlow with CF. He was looking forward to going home and breathing in the Carlow air.

Gosh Peter and Misdee are both really young, they look a very nice couple. I hope the call comes very soon. Did it say on the news report Peter had been on the lvad longer than anyone in the world or did i pick that bit up wrong.

BreeVanDerCampLGJ · 13/08/2007 19:15

It was in the Mater.

BreeVanDerCampLGJ · 13/08/2007 19:16

I think it is longer than anyone in Europe.

I have clicked on teh link and am currently going CATATONIC with boredom with some schoolgirl at a world leaders conference giving a fantastically dull video diary of the whole bleeding thing. Am I watching the wrong programme or something? Help!

aloha · 13/08/2007 19:44

Ah, I was on wrong link!

I hope that a heart becomes available very soon Misdee.
