i'm just waiting for look east to interview me as the nosey neighbour who is stunned that something like this happened in a quiet cul de sac etc etc...

When the ex and I first moved to Denver, we rented an apartment. One day he got home from work to find police tape everywhere and hazmat (Hazardous Material) crews swarming our building.

Turns out the tenants above us were running a meth lab!

Could have blown up the entire stair/close!

if you watch the video you can see the edge of my house on the right. the most contraversial thing that happens around here is someone tutting at the neighbours who forget to cut their grass on a weekly basis.

I seem to remember that was how one cannabis factory was uncovered during a cold spell in the last few years.

One was found near us recently when the house went on fire! Was in a house in quite a posh road too, apparently owned by a man in his 60s!

Anglia news have been outside my house recently reported on the floods doing absolutely no damage at all...

diagon! My parents had this happen to them a few years ago.. the farm next door to them was raided and the cops found 10,000 cannabis plants in their barn!

bugger me. i thought 300 plants in a house was bad enough. it stinks

What made me laugh was the police burned them to destroy them.. yeah right, biggest party they'd had in years

no you don't want the news eveywhere trust me.
there was a raid at the house behind mine about a month ago, the london bombers or their acomplicecs (can't remember whcih) lived there.

there was camara's everywhere and i couldn't leave my road because of all teh news vans and reporters and police tape all over the place.

i tried to get on the telly but apparently they were door knocking yesterday when i took the feckin rabbit to the vets and yes you can see my house, it is to the right
mamazon, i know the press suck, we like 5 miles from soham and when holly and jessica went missing, you couldn't get out of our village for vans with dishes etc.... it's all quiet at the moment, just the poor police office standing outside alone bored stiff. ds is actually quite bothered by it all now bless him

I was part of a project that scanned a city with a special heat-sensitive camera slung from a plane. It flew over the city bit by bit and we then glued the strips of photos to a huge board with some main roads overlayed.

The point was to show how much heat your house was giving off to encourage better insulation/environmental action.

Funnily enough there were a spate of raids by the Police not long after on the houses that were glowing white - although they denied that they had used these images for their own purposes.

The special hydroponic lamps used by growers give off a lot of heat and light and are commonly found in attics of older houses above the insulation layer.

Using heat-sensitive cameras are a good way of spotting them.

yes, they had the hydro lamps. i spoke to the owners earlier, the house is all clear and will be on the market next week! she was just emptying all the fish they had left in the fridge out. she said that was almost as bad

Seems to be a particularly Vietnamese crime. One of the local magistrates' courts here has had quite a number of cases of people cultivating cannibis and they have all been Vietnamese.

What annoys me is that none of them speaks any English and therefore the courts have to fund the provision of an interpreter and most of those appearing have lived here for a good number of years. Probably drinking in the smell of the cannibis has destroyed their brains' ability to learn new languages.
