MTPW - and then those fat bastards have TATTOOS!!!

FlossALump · 10/07/2007 14:16

I'm just pleased that my ankles haven't swollen up as quickly this time.

I absolutely refuse to be weighed when I am pregnant. I will eat when I am hungry and I'll eat what I fancy.

I will get fat and not worry about being fat, becuase the body lays down fat stores to ensure sufficient supplies are ready for baby to be fed. That is my excuse and I am sticking to it.

LittleLupin · 10/07/2007 14:17

Oh, by the way, the picture is of Nicole Richie (famously thin) and it's a fake bump for her TV show IIRC.

thebigSea · 10/07/2007 14:20

so I basically look like a big fake?
should I complain to them about copyrights?

mytwopenceworth · 10/07/2007 14:21

Exactly, LL. Thereby confirming their lunacy and rightful status as Object of Scorn and Ridicule.

LittleLupin · 10/07/2007 14:26

theBigSea - look at my profile. That's my sister and it's REAL (and she got even bigger!)

OrmIrian · 10/07/2007 14:30

What has 'should' got to do with it?

thebigSea · 10/07/2007 16:17

yes, that's it, only with bigger boobs

thebigSea · 10/07/2007 16:17

anyway aren't women meant to put on some fat ready for bf'ing?

sweetkitty · 10/07/2007 16:24

My Mum used to comment on my weight every time she seen me saying "what has the MW said are you too big?" apparently she was weighed at every appointment and if you were putting on too much weight you were told to watch what you eat or smoke.

DD1 I was big all over, took a while for the weight to come off

DD2 was 9lbs 3ozs and I was a bump on legs was in size 10 trousers the day after she was born.

I honestly don't care what weight I put on this pregnancy I'll eat what I like when I like, I know that when I have 3 children under 4 to run after it will be the best diet ever.

TranquilaManana · 10/07/2007 18:11

sweetkitty, youre pg again?? (dont come across you much these days) congrats!! when are youdue?

sweetkitty · 10/07/2007 20:55

sweetkitty · 10/07/2007 20:56

TheMuppet · 10/07/2007 20:58

I had no hope when full term with DD i was a heffer towards the end [end] elephant feet and all!

If turns out positive tomorrow i know i'm going to be big if not bigger boohoo
there goes my size 6 clothes

tribpot · 10/07/2007 22:19

Btw, I went to visit a pregnant friend of mine at the weekend and she has that whole 'bump at front, no lardy bloatiness' thing going on. Clearly it can be done, and must be our own personal failing (or Belgian Chocolate Haagen Dasz consumption) at fault.

Piffle · 10/07/2007 22:20

nicole richie is now actually pregnant
anything to avoid jail time one ponders cynically....

TheMuppet · 10/07/2007 22:20

TP - i blame HD & Galaxy for my big huge bump

TheMuppet · 10/07/2007 22:21

Piffle makes you wonder how Nicole Ritches tiny frame will cope being PG & giving Birth

TranquilaManana · 10/07/2007 23:18

sorry SK, am nappiesgalore

and i don t think nicole richie is pg... is just a thing for some part...

maisym · 10/07/2007 23:23

I'm huge & preg and thats how being pregnant is for me. I don't try to stop getting fat - it just happens - plus water retension. Luckily bf has used up the excess reserves afterwards.

Piffle · 11/07/2007 09:37

no that nicole rishie was for her old show but she is no newly pregnant according to esteemed gossip sources
rtuly
how she did it with her BMI is something else though...

sweetkitty · 11/07/2007 21:46

hiya nappiesgalore - how you doing do you recommend 3 then?

Emprexia · 15/07/2007 13:05

i'm going to be evil now and tell everyone i didn't retain water OR put on weight while pregnant.

but then being a size 22 when i concieved, the diet change to eat healthy while pregnant was only going to mean i ended up losing some weight.

While i certainly think pregnant women should make an effort to at least look nice, if only because it can make you feel a whole lot more human, i'm not going to say they shouldn't put weight on or retain water, neither are within a persons control, its hormonal and natural for both to happen.

meowmix · 15/07/2007 13:33

my mw with my first pg told me that I had the rest of my life to shift any weight and just the one chance to grow this healthy baby. No contest there in my mind but had awful morning sickness for 35 weeks and so neither mum or baby put on much weight.

second (unsuccessful) pg and the consultant said to me that if she had her way I'd be confined to bed and fed all manner of lovely food to make sure I had a healthy baby. She'd be giving Churchy extra eclairs three times a day. How much do I wish I'd taken that advice now?!
