... and don't show the full table of results.

The tyranny of half-baked statistics...

Well I live at the Bershire end of Surrey so have the same local news as Reading. They're always going on about the social problems they have there with 'youth crime' (whatever that is) binge-drinking and vandalism.

So to suggest that it's so much better than living in the North is rubbish. Of course, it may not have been saying that at all but it was so vague and badly written, I couldn't really tell you.

Total and under shit. Have they actually been to Liverpool lately to see all the investment into the city of Culture and the tourism industry is thriving as are other businesses. When it comes to the population here I haven't a clue but am carrying my third so like to think i'm doing my bit.

Why are they talking as if growing quickly is a good thing, ffs? We have a far higher quality of life because we're not in, eg Cambridge where we wouldn't be able afford such a nice house and we would be spending hours stuck in traffic.

Agree with Kathy re "fastest-growing"

Why is that such an accolade?

I love all the waffle too about cities "lagging behind" and needing "to do better" etc

Meaningless!

doggiesayswoof · 09/07/2007 16:51

It's just England?
I live in Glasgow, which does terribly badly in lots of surveys (murder capital of Europe IIRC, etc, etc) but it's still got a lot going for it in some ways, depending on your individual circs. League tables are such a blunt tool...
