But the conservation society gave them permission, so they were obviously happy about the way it was managed, and probably by the great big cheque that came - which will pay for the upkeep for quite a while, I would imagine.

Spider · 06/07/2007 22:32

I don't care what the conservation society think. They should be even more ashamed of themselves than the tosspots who desecrated the site. It shows that our cultural heritage is not necessarily in the hands of the right people.

AudreyFforbesHamilton · 06/07/2007 22:33

It wasn't desecrated.
It was altered, briefly.
And now it is back to the way it was before.

webcrone · 06/07/2007 22:34

Rampaging, Spider? Crikey!

edam · 06/07/2007 22:35

The site owners probably wet themselves with excitement at the idea of having a TV show on their premises. And wanted the money. And being an archaeological society probably wanted to irritate the pagans.

edam · 06/07/2007 22:37

Let's not forget the present owners were GIVEN this land by the former landowner. Presumably, if I know the Devonshires, to safeguard it for the public benefit. Not much safeguarding allowing Trinny and Susannah to trample all over it with their 100 minions in order to get a cheap laugh.

Mhamai · 06/07/2007 22:47

See what happens when you ban smoking in pubs!

webcrone · 06/07/2007 22:48

If it is an ancient druid site (seems doubtful) who knows what the original druids would have thought or held sacred? They might have been tickled by the whole thing.

SaintGeorge · 06/07/2007 23:10

It isn't a sacred site to all pagans. Personally I know very few who view it as sacred and those who do are very much 'new-agers' who are more into the robes and the paraphenalia than any real sense of faith.

It is a historical site though, even if it is only a couple of centuries old, and because of that the so called custodians shouldn't have let this stunt go on.

Aitch · 06/07/2007 23:16

StG, did i read somewhere else that you'd been affected by the floods? i'm so sorry to hear that. sending you peaceful and easy insurance claim vibes.

Aitch · 06/07/2007 23:18

SaintGeorge · 06/07/2007 23:18

Cheers Aitch, insurance vibes much needed

SaintGeorge · 06/07/2007 23:19

Nah, she said 'bye fucker'.

Aitch · 06/07/2007 23:22

she DID NOT! no-one would say that, even to a fat man in a dress. it was sucker.

SaintGeorge · 06/07/2007 23:23

BUT how loud did you turn your speakers up to check eh?

I turned mine up to 11

Aitch · 06/07/2007 23:25

i wouldn't trust a set of hemp speakers, myself.

elasticbandstand · 06/07/2007 23:33

a big white penis was painted on there quite resently

madamez · 08/07/2007 21:53

Being called a fucker won't fucking kill you, you know. I was hoping for a bit of rubbish trip-over-your-blanket prat-fighting as well, but that video clip is really dull.

Aitch · 08/07/2007 22:29

it was SUCKER!

twinsetandpearls · 08/07/2007 22:34

someone should tell the white suited people that tapered trousers are so unflattering!

twinsetandpearls · 08/07/2007 22:36

and those cloaks are just hiding their figures they need good tailoring nipped in at the waist perhaps wioth a fluted sleeve to balance out the shoulders.

Greensleeves · 09/07/2007 10:40

at twinset

madamez · 09/07/2007 15:21

Look, I know Trinny and Tranny's shows are invariably a degrading pile of shite, but what was the big idea with dressing a load of peasants up as sperms?

americantrish · 09/07/2007 18:27
