biddzy01 · 03/07/2007 13:54

I know its hard not to be panicked after the events this past weekend and continuing events. But don't be put off from travelling otherwise these terrorists have won and that is what they want to cause disruption and fear.

Nbg · 03/07/2007 13:56

I dont understand that though biddzy.

If theres a risk, which I know you could say that about alot of things, but surely your first reactions are to avoid this situation and protect yourself and family?

NAB3 · 03/07/2007 13:57

I would rather let them win and be alive...

TroyMcClure · 03/07/2007 13:57

wel hd isnt panicked or fearful just hakced off

he only got back fom USa yesterday

TroyMcClure · 03/07/2007 13:58

but htnaks for that bizzydi

(new are we?)

biddzy01 · 03/07/2007 14:13

Of Course I would protect myself and my family.Especially after being in 7/7 going to work. But I wouldn't sit and hide in my house too scared to go out because of these terrorists. An attack could happen anywhere not just at the airport and yes I am new to this

MrsMills · 03/07/2007 14:16

They wre scanning passenger shoes at the airport yesterday, but they stil let quite a few through without checking.

Dont understand that at all-

Nbg · 03/07/2007 14:17

I can honestly say (as sad as it sounds) if I lived in London I would not use the underground at all in any circumstances.

And I dont get this whole "if you dont get on with your life they have won" attitude.
If no one flew or used the underground ever again, they havent won at all.
Its 2 less places for them to kill us all, which is all they want to do.
they dont want us to hide in our houses, they want us dead.

MintyDixCharrington · 03/07/2007 14:18

oh shit I have JUST sent an email to my american au pair who is coming on sat saying "I hope you aren't worried about security... h'row is probably the most secure place in the world at the moment and there is nothing worth bombing in wiltshire"

HOW STUPID do I feel now? Aurgh!!!!!!!!

bundle · 03/07/2007 14:21

i use the underground in a v confident, sod-you kind of way

OP posts:
MintyDixCharrington · 03/07/2007 14:23

I actually banged my head against the desk and moaned when I saw this thread title, I feel so idiotic

not that anyone cares moan sniff

biddzy01 · 03/07/2007 14:25

Its not just London though is it they've just tried to do it to Glasgow. You said you wouldn't use the underground and if no one flew its less places for them to kill us. Have you ever been on a bus or a bar/restaurant/nightclub?

KrustyTheClown · 03/07/2007 14:26

lol at nothing worth bombing in Wiltshire.

harman · 03/07/2007 14:27

Message withdrawn

Nbg · 03/07/2007 14:28

I think the last time I was in nightclub was before the millenium, the last time I went on a bus was bc in 2003 and my dh is a tightarse so we dont do meals out .

We live in a quiet little town so I feel safe here.

noddyholder · 03/07/2007 14:32

I was brought up in northern ireland in the 60's and 70's and I really hope London doesn't become like that I really was affected by it and this has stirred up a lot of those feelings.I don't want to start avoiding things and won't but am a tad concerned about going on the eurostar next month

KrustyTheClown · 03/07/2007 14:38

it's boring avoiding stuff though

and loads of people have to travel to work, especially in London where virtually everyone gets to work on public transport

we've been through this with the IRA stuff in London and everything else - life just goes on, mainly because it has to!
