Why is this public interest and why does it need to be shown? the poor princes! I just dont understand.

OP posts:

regardless of whether you can see her or not, why do we need to see it at all?

And is elvis dead? I thought he was living somewhere with Shergar and Lord Lucan .

BeatrootandBenedick · 05/06/2007 14:15

phew

sO HOW DID ELVIS DIE

wannaBe · 05/06/2007 14:16

didn't he have a heart attack? although the conspiracy theorists reckon he was sweating in his coffin and is not dead.

Enid · 05/06/2007 14:17

She was boring enough alive

Honestly though isnt the point of the documentarty to encourage people to wear seatbelts? If dianas death encourages more people to wear them then it can only be a good thing imo

MegaLegs · 05/06/2007 14:18

William and Harry have asked for it not to be shown.
But looks like it will be .

clumsymum · 05/06/2007 14:20

but just from the point of view of keeping things private, I wouldn't want to see anyone's death. That is just prurient.

Enid, my father was killed by smoking. I want to encourage everyone not to smoke. But I wouldn't want to show a film of his death on national TV thanks.

NikkiBFG · 05/06/2007 15:09

Can we have a boycott of the prog? Maybe if loads of people DONT tune in, then C4 will regret their decision to show it...

Can you imagine if any of our DC's had to see pics of us dying?? It doesn't bear thinking about.....

Boycott!!!

Enid · 05/06/2007 15:19

[sound of drop echoing round large empty well]

SueBaroo · 05/06/2007 15:20

Entirely pointless for me to boycott it, I wouldn't have watched it anyway. Not in the slightest bit interested. But I'll Boycott it like I boycott Nescafe coffee (vile stuff I'd never drink anyway...)

NikkiBFG · 05/06/2007 15:21

Enid!

Enid · 05/06/2007 15:22

lol sorry

I wont watch as I am not interested in princess di

but mahillions of people will

NikkiBFG · 05/06/2007 15:24

I'm just feeling for her children thats all

Stigaloid · 05/06/2007 15:26

am pretty sure Elvis died on the loo

EricL · 05/06/2007 15:41

Not interested in the whole sorry saga i'm afraid and won't be tuning in.

It's a shame Channel 4 seem to have embarked on a programming poilcy of late that is seriously misguided and lacking in credibility.

ratclare · 05/06/2007 18:33

no seen enough people die and dead to be excited about another

BishyBarneyBee · 05/06/2007 18:36

well there could be public interest if it shows photographically the circumstances of her death - number of paparazzi, state of car etc.

But as her sons have asked for it to be edited I think their opinions far outreach anything else.

southeastastra · 05/06/2007 18:40

it may shut up some conspiracy theorists about the positioning of the paparazzi etc.

Bit late in joining thread, but Id be appalled to see it on TV; has to be for shock value, cant think for the life of me why else they would want to do it. Sick.

krazykoolkazza · 06/06/2007 09:29

No. I'd much prefer to watch "The Apprentice".

NO.

I don't want to see anyone dying, regardless of who they are.

That's twisted and completely sick.

WTF?

Just let that poor woman rest - she was messed up and miserable for most of her adult life.

GrumpyOldHorsewoman · 06/06/2007 09:46

Why oh why do they just keep on about Princess Diana?
I just don't see the point.

Wilkie · 06/06/2007 14:36

Erm, No I really don't want to see it and think it is sick

McDreamy · 06/06/2007 14:37

I am not in the UK so have not got the chance to see the programme but if I was I wouldn't watch it. I think it's sick!
