Megan and news stories.

I was never interested in the Royal family until Megan came along .
I like her . She is trying hard to adapt as anyone marrying into a vastly different family from their own would.
Her family are rediculious.
Why does her older sister not just leave her alone ?
I hope she doesn't read any of the rubbish that is published about her .
The latest from her Dad is just embarrassing for him but possibly upsetting for her .

The sister would have come and behaved if there was money in it - ie agreed photos to sell to the press. Selling interviews to make money is clearly a big driver and if she could have made more money with a photo of her megan and harry in kensington palace and a story about meeting Prince Charles for 5 seconds rather than as a spurned outcast, she would stay in the fold. At the moment, the only story she has is the spurned outcast, so she uses that angle. At the very beginning of the relationship, she sold stories saying how nice Meghan was etc. Once it was clear she was persona non grata, things changed.

No, I completely disagree. Let's imagine this is an MN post for a minute, "My sister is marrying a rich famous man but we're not invited to the wedding. However, we've been told we can come to a small pre-wedding reception at his fancy house and may be allowed to take pictures which we can use as we like. AIBU to think my sister is a complete bitch for wanting to exclude us from the wedding itself? She's clearly embarrassed by us and doesn't want to be seen in public with us."

If she has no relationship with these people, excluding them completely was the right thing to do from the start.

Everytime i see a headline from her sister i just sort of roll my eyes and think get over it luv. I think she was completely right to cut them out and every story they sell reaffirms that. They would have held her to blackmail forever they would never have shut up. I think they had strained relations before she was with Harry. I don't know what has gone on with her dad and why he appears to have gone from doting dad to dingbat.

I don't click on the story as i don't want to fuel it. I watched the wedding of kate and william and harry and meghan and wonder how the hell they manage it and what they are thinking. It must be bloody crazy. The private conversations between Kates parents leading up to her wedding. It is such a different world.

Is it bigger news in America then here?

I think it's a unique scenario bearing in mond the fact this is the Royal Family

But, in any event, that post isnt really analagous is it? It misses out the fact that the sister has repeatedly said that all.they want to do is maintain a relationship with Meghan; particularly for their father's sake. That is all they want and the main reason they give interviews is to try and communicate that to her ad they have no other way of contacting her. So, if that was truly ALL they wanted, presumably they would have been delighted to attend in whatever capacity and be there to accompany their father. If they had turned their noses up that offer, Kensington Palace would hsve been able to brief the press that their motives were not as altruistic as they suggest

Your post would only be analagous if you added in to it that the poster has previously given very indiscrete and unkind interviews to the press. Under those circumstances, I think most MNers would say the sister was lucky to be invited in any capacity and, if she truly wanted to support her father and see her sister (her stated intention), she should attend what was offered

MrStarkIDontFeelSoGood · 16/07/2018 12:30

She didn't invite her mother's family and I think the sole reason she didn't is because she would've been obliged to invite the fathers as excluding them would then have looked quite pointed.

She must REALLY dislike her fathers side for it to be worth paying the price of excluding her mothers

It makes you wonder what her side of that story is

Don’t think we should have a royal family after the Queen tbh, it’s ridiculous. Before you say they bring in money from tourism... well France has more tourism than us. And no their money isn’t private, it’s from the Duchy and property that was once owned by us.

I don’t give a toss about Meghan as was keen on the idea of her being a feminist but what type of feminist would be a clothes horse and take a title? It’s about equality and how does a title do that, and all that money they ALL spend?

Today harry was asking for money for the Diana fund... if they truly cared about any of these causes they could lop off a chunk of their offshore trust funds and bloody fund it themselves.

Meghan has just stepped into the sweetest role of her life. Do you think anyone who goes to Soho House is that nice?

Her family are shite, doesn’t mean she’s nice.

Incidentally it’s a shame her mum isn’t a bit younger and she seems a lovely person! Nice if harry could’ve married someone like her

as she seems a lovely person...
