Whats that supposed to mean exactly?!
Over 6,000 Iraqi civilians dead. Does that make us the greatest?

Aha so he wants to make the NHS more expensive after the Labour party has spent 10 years trying to make it more efficient?

mosschops30 · 11/05/2007 14:30

really! tell that to the nurses who spend billions on car parking to fund Patricia Hewitts cock-ups, All the nursing students who have no jobs on qualification, the nurses who are prepared to strike to stand up to the government, the patients who are still waiting for ops as they are bumped up and down lists to juggle figures, the staff who are assaulted every day as part of their job, nurses who receive a below inflation payrise whilst dr's are blessed with 27%

Yeah the NHS is marvellous!!! It needs to fall on its knees (not far to go), collapse and start again

PLEASE can we discuss George on another thread. If you start it I will share my views.

"Cameron wants to save the NHS - from what?"

well hopefully from the totally crap management, the woeful waste of the vast investment in the NHS, from employing Art consultants for mega money and from buying big stones for £70 grand to enhance an entrance.

I should imagine if you're having a heart attack highly polished stones are way down on your list of things to make you feel better.

paulaplumpbottom · 11/05/2007 17:59

I was listening to a woman today talking about art collections in hospitals. They can't afford the latest cancer drugs but can afford Kenyan Art.

DC - yes - the man that wants to take Britain out of the European Social Chapter thereby leaving women at the mercy of their employers with respect to maternity leave/benefits and part-time worker protection. Fabulous! Aide quoted as saying we trust that they [employers] will do the decent thing...

As for the NHS, hasn't the Blair government put in more money than any other government to the NHS but we are an older, frailer, sicker population with ever increasing expectations of something with finite resources. The NHS usually (but not always, it's only staffed by people remember who can be fallible) comes through in times of greatest need without concern for the available resources of the patient.

DC wants to save the NHS does he?? doesn't everyone??? not much of a vote winner to pledge to scrap the system that provides free health care to all (ok, not always to the level we all expect, but better than nothing surely?) It's a bit like saying I think saving the planet is pretty important!

"Greatest Nation on earth". Thank God TB is going now, he has clearly lost whatever grip he did have on sanity. Anyone who has visited anywhere else in Europe can see what a dirty yobby country UK has become.

The whole speech made me want to puke, its stupid anyway saying one country is better than another. The main the UK has got going for it as far as I can see is that we won't be AS affected by global warming as places like Africa and the Maldives.
