Can you believe that the BBC showed clips of the Virginian gunman home video at 6 o'clock yesterday evening?

The BBC should admit that showing any part of the Virginian gunman home video on yesterday's 6 o'clock news (long before the 9 o'clock watershed)was absolutely appalling. Showing a fictional video nasty at this time would not have been entertained for obvious reasons, so why did the BBC show a real one? It is hard enough protecting children from the ever more violent images shown in the media today without being subjected to this sort of voyeuristic, sensationalist and irresponsible broadcasting at prime TV time. I have telephoned the BBC to complain but one voice will have no impact. If you would like to complain too, please call the BBC on 08700 100222 and press 2. Lines open 24/7.

you could switch over

I think you have a point. You could switch over yes, but the BBC have a duty of care to it's viewers and I'm struggling to understand how showing the footage at all, at any time, was of benefit to anyone.
