But how?.....Why?...

She must be a foreigner to be breastfeeding at 18.
How utterly surreal.

beansprout · 17/04/2007 22:01

Surely formula would have been a perfectly acceptable substitute? There's absolutely no good reason for getting your breasts out in public, surely?

Bubble99 · 17/04/2007 22:07

True, MD. That occured to me too.

Not many breastfeeding 18 year olds around these here parts.

Come to think of it, not too many 18 year old mothers around here, either. Most are a lot older. First babies at 40ish is becoming the norm.

beansprout. 'Mother assaults police office with SMA?'

Doesn't have the same ring to it?

Hmm I cannot imagine how this happened

What would possess you to use breastmilk as a WEAPON?

And at what stage did the police officer think it might have gone too far? Oh she's unbuttoning her blouse, well that's ok, oh now she's got her breast out, well that's fine, and now she's massaging her breast hmm should I SAY something?

lissielou · 17/04/2007 22:12

pmsl thats the funniest thing ive read in AGES!

bubble round here the mums tend to be younger than 18. im a "mature mother"

chocolateface · 17/04/2007 22:13

It's good to see she's not being charged for indecent exposure.

whomovedmychocolate · 17/04/2007 22:14

morningpaper - maybe she thought if she offered him a drink he'd let her off!?

Bubble99 · 17/04/2007 22:16

But at what point during the whole sorry affair did she think...

"I know, I'll escape capture by spraying the cop with my milk"....?

Bubble99 · 17/04/2007 22:18

I can imagine the court scene.

Police officer..."M'lud. I was proceeding in a westerly direction to apprehend the shoplifter, when she proceeded, with malicious intent, to spray me with milk from her right breast."

Bubble99 - Some kind of comedic flower routine, but with floral bra, not plastic daisy perhaps?

morningpaper · 17/04/2007 22:19

  1. doo not get seeen
  2. dig tunnul
  3. run v fast
  4. escaip in getaway car
  5. fight off arresting officer with lactating breast
lissielou · 17/04/2007 22:19

pmsl maybe she needed a "letdown"

whomovedmychocolate · 17/04/2007 22:19

I feel slightly sorry for the policeman, you can just imagine the crap he's getting at the station.

'Do you need a stab vest sonny? How about a muslin just in case?'

whomovedmychocolate · 17/04/2007 22:20

Tomorrows headlines 'La Leche mums in mass robbery, 21 banks held up at nipplepoint'

chocolateface · 17/04/2007 22:21

Do you think it was caught on CCTV?

morningpaper · 17/04/2007 22:21

I can just imagine the scene:

arresting officer: I'm afraid we have to arrest you for theft
me: oh dear, wait a minute, can you hold this bag while I just erm

arresting officer: ?
Me:

arresting officer: ??
Me:

arresting officer: ???
Me: I'm sorry I'm having trouble getting a letdown, can I have a chair?
arresting officer: ????

I just can't imagine it myself

whomovedmychocolate · 17/04/2007 22:22

Chocolateface - even if it was, they'd have cleaned the lens by now!!!!

maybe la leche should use this in their next promotional campaign

"Breast Milk, best for the immune system, best for bonding, best for providing valuable nutrients, helps fight cancer, childhood obesity, and is a handy weapon in case you get busted"

lissielou · 17/04/2007 22:24

didnt mean to offend then btw

or am i being hyper-sensitive?

Bubble99 · 17/04/2007 22:27

Yes, lissielou, you are being too sensitive.

I reckon it was Hunker..

I hope Miss Munker has a good alibi.

chocolateface · 17/04/2007 22:27

Maybe she comes from a country where you can't arest a lactating women. It makes sence, she'll need to get home to feed her baby.

MarsLady · 17/04/2007 22:30

PMSL!!!!!!!!!! You just know MP is going to use that in the weekly roundup!

I went away with 2 friends when DS1 was 3 months old. First friend, B, had a 3 month old and a 16 month old. Second friend, E, totally single and child free. We went out to dinner then spent the night in a hotel.

To wake E, B and I stood on either side of the bed... took aim....... and fired!!!!!!!!

Lacto-women to the core!

Bubble99 · 17/04/2007 22:32

That's a good point, choccyface.

There are some parts of the world where this would count.

Poor police officer, eh? Imagine how he/she must feel when the inevitable 'do you want milk in your tea/coffee' questions come up?
