Out of hours care provided by nurses rather than doctors... good idea?

I think this is a reduction in the quality of care. And, I wonder if the the hole left here is big enough to open up the private market. Do you think we'll start seeing private GPs offering out of hours care by doctors rather than nurses? Hence widening the gap of haves and have nots.

err, nursing assistants have been around for many years...

yes i know but what i'm saying is that you can't just get rid of the some levels of an organisation and replace then with a different level, and expect them to offer the same service, it is all different training
so if nurses take on dr roles , then HCA take on nursing roles then HCA assistants to do HCA roles, where does it stop?
