Andrew Gosden missing - ten years

Hard to believe that Andrew Gosden, a quiet 14 year old boy, stepped off a train at Kings Cross station and disappeared into the crowds, and has been missing since that time.
Truly awful for the family.
Andrew needs continued publicity, in the hope that he might be found, one way or another.

BBC link.
Missing, but not forgotten.

Why start a nw one when this one is still relevant?

@NorthSouthcatlady

It’s all so sad. I don’t think his disappearance was that well publicised then. I lived in London at the time but l don’t remember it at all
I lived in London (SE1) at the time and there were posters everywhere of Andrew. I was a teacher and so it really struck a chord with me. I walked past photos of his face everywhere for months and would look out for him.outside tube stations. I still think about him often.

Because it’s not.

If he’s still alive he will be 30 years old by now.

The reality is that either he was murdered or that he wanted to disappear.

FWIW I think that he wanted to go missing, and succeeded. Even if he were found now his parents wouldn’t have a right to know if he didn’t want that.

I read a similar case in the news a couple of years ago where a boy who went missing at a similar age was found in Spain 10 years later, and although he did agree to his parents being told he was still alive, he refused any contact with them or for them to be allowed to know where he was.

The reality is that a lot more kids of his age go missing than we realise. Many are found, but many aren’t. Some end up on the streets, others end up in other areas of life.

IIRC the police have never suggested this was a murder enquiry.

Exactly.
User48751490 · 11/01/2022 19:32

It's an ongoing investigation/missing person therefore it's not necessary to keep posting new threads.

MazzleDazzle · 11/01/2022 19:42

Thank you for sharing the story.

I’d never heard about Andrew before this thread.

I hope his family get some answers.

There were posters in Kings Cross at the time. I very much hope that his family gets some answers.
