Who needs counter-terrorism?

The EU is very aware of what the UK brings to the table - they've had to listen to 43 years of it.

And - as Leavers keep harping on - the only British lives worth saving are Leavers. Remainers don't count, as I recall.

She is not threatening to withdraw co-operation. She is simply pointing out that our shared security arrangements are due to our membership of the EU and that, unless agreement is reached covering such matters, co-operation would inevitably be weakened. The BBC has this right - she is highlighting the mutual benefits to both sides of reaching a deal about our future relationship.

How ridiculous. I have seen Leavers suggesting that the more extreme Remainers should leave but none suggesting that Remainers lives are not worth saving. Even if a few on the extreme fringe think that it is by no means a majority view amongst Leavers.

The 'missing you already' is a very clear message . attempts to change the EU from within failed, so from without isn't going to work. Not news.

Cries of 'blackmail' from the EU also give the same message.

Cretan I don't think that the EU is more sophisticated at all, and yes, they prefer a convoluted route to their destination, rather than taking the direct one. A friend, who was an ambassador to the PSC, said that getting a decision was like herding cats. Dh, who was sent to the EU as a Seconded National Expert for three years, concurred.

Fyi, having seen Verhofstadt, he does have a large mouth, and is very shiny/greasy.

'Divorce settlement' that's what it is, even Tusk refers to Brexit as a divorce.
