It has occured to me, reading through these others threads that some of you may be interested in the proposed children's bill, being brought in, in the wake of the Victoria Climbie case.

It is supposed to protect children, what it wil end up doing is being big brother gone mad. Confidential information will be shared without our knowledge by anyone the government sees fit.

These people wil be able to flag our children's files. The government refuses to publish a list of what flags will be but some things that have been mentioned by ministers include references to low birth weight, excessive breast feeding (past 12 months). Those of us who make unorthodox choices (homebirth/non vaccination/home education etc) may find ourselves being labelled at risk if our health professionals etc do not agree with our decisions.

Have a look at this site

I have already written to my MP.

That site is terrifying Julief, thanks for posting details. Every time I complain to my son's school about various information being gathered etc (looking at the school census info on that site) I get treated like some neurotic old bag but it seems I'm not the only one with concerns.

Bloody hell, it's really frightening. Looks like an interesting site Julie F, who are Action on Rights for Children? Are they a pressure group?
