This is front page news?Is it really ?Does anyone really care what he did at Eton we all have done things as teenagers and certainly would hope not to be judged on them now.We love to rake over old ground in this country!

AH!! this is the biggest, most ridiculous non-story this year!!

God, he smoked a joint at school?! Wow i hope the person who broke that story gets a huge pay rise..

I guess we should be glad that there is nothing worse going on in the world.

Journalists eh? love em..

Freckle · 11/02/2007 15:48

Bovvered by his cannibis smoking? Not really - especially as it isn't really news. And I've done stuff in my youth that I wouldn't readily admit to my children , so I'm not really in a position to criticise.

southeastastra · 11/02/2007 15:51

i did laugh at the incredibly foppish daily mail pic of him in his youth with boris. i can't find an online version to link though!

Caligula · 11/02/2007 17:52

Look at her face, she's not bovvered

Pann · 11/02/2007 18:39

isn't it only here and in the U.S. that this would be a 'story'? Just about everywhere else in the world is a bit more grown up.

And I'm sure he has done other, more embarassing stuff. >

motherinferior · 11/02/2007 18:51

I was more struck by the fact that he went to a very posh pricey school and got worse O levels than I got at a comprehensive.

Aloha · 11/02/2007 18:58

that would be the dope, MI!

He got a first though.

droile if it a personal issue and not one where cash is involved then perhaps your friends MP can help. Normally they do feel obliged to make some pretence of helping anyway.

I don't want to go too much into the details here because it would remove my anonymity. However initially he refused to meet us at all. He then insisted on limiting numbers and meeting us in a place that was inconvenient for us and where he hadn't even arranged enough chairs - there were 2 - for us to sit down. He took a mobile call while talking to us and didn't ask them to call back later, clearly designed to show how unimportant we were. He began the meeting by telling us his view and how we were completely wrong. We politely corrected some of the erroneous information he had. He did moderate his attitude substantially after he met us but he was arrogant, patronising and so thoroughly offensive in the meeting. He probably changed his tone after he was sent local press cuttings about the public meetings that had been held - so he realised just how many people we were representing.

As I said I'm not a political animal. I've been told this man is considered to have a good future in the conservative party so this way of treating the electorate is apparently fine in his party. No wonder they've been out of office so long.

Think having a politician who actually knows something about drugs, as opposed to just thinking they know, is a good thing. Chances are he did more than smoke a few spliffs too.

hippmummy · 12/02/2007 10:51

I PMSL that on Radio 1's Newsbeat (which is so dumbed down it's like Newsround) they reported that Dave had 'smoked cannibis and listened to reggae music'!!!!

Such a pathetic non-story!

I agree with tinygang that he probably leaked it in a desperate attempt to look cool...

DrDaddy · 13/02/2007 14:14

But did he inhale?
