I think they call the poo 'poultry manure' and use it as fertilizer. You can buy some in your local garden centre.

What is horrifying too is the sheer number of turkeys that must have been kept together in one shed - non wonder they get ill.

I think that the virus has a very limited life in the poo of infected birds and the poo is treated in some way before being sold as fertiliser.
