David Cameron back on the job market

David Cameron has decided he doesn't want to be an MP any more. Think he's probably had enough, and he wants Theresa May to be free to do her own thing.

Any suggestion about a potential career path for him? I would suggest:

  1. New host of 'Top Gear'
  2. Role in Poldark, possibly as a neighbouring landowner and rival to Ross.
  3. Running a nice Cotswolds tea shop as we all know Sam Cam is good with baking (she won Celeb Bake Off)

Doesn't Sam Cam already have a job at Smythsons? And was she really on Bake Off?!

Yes she does but I think part of the deal of being the PM's wife was that her career had to take a back seat. Maybe she'll be able to be more proactive in the future.

And yes she did Bake Off - a celeb version for Sport Relief. She came across very well, friendly and chatty, and was a good baker too.

I don't think I've seen any of the celebrity versions.

"Face like a freshly wanked cock" - I remember that! Made me laugh so much as well Grin.

I don't think he was ever going to be a back bencher man.

I wouldn't be surprised if he'd planned to get out some time ago - when he realized he'd had enough. He suddenly looked tired and weary round about the time his dad's financial affairs were being scrutinised.

He's 50 next month and probably likes the idea of semi-retirement and some privacy.

UntilTheCowsComeHome · 13/09/2016 11:06

There's a full time job going at my shop.

I'd love him to work with me, I actually really like the bloke.

There I said it. Smile

Luna - good point re girls and Eton.

It must be way more fun being an exPM than a PM. I would quite like to be an exPM.

Obsidian77 · 13/09/2016 11:13

Yep Luna I reckon a couple of mornings a week in a handsomely compensated consultancy role somewhere.
Then he can send his kids to the private schools they were always going to go to and enjoy the lifestyle all his school and uni friends are already living. Without having to worry about visiting fish markets in Cornwall or have people carp about him using taxpayers' money.
I do think he looked tired of his job for a long time and frankly it looks to be a completely thankless task.

caffeineanddryshampoo · 13/09/2016 14:30

@rockybird so true!

TopazRocks · 13/09/2016 16:45

Don't forget the rather generous MP and PM's pension. I'm sure that and his savings means he doesn't need to work much. Esp with Sam's work too. The man is utterly shameless. Angry But I'm not really surprised.

TopazRocks · 13/09/2016 16:47

It would be funny if Witney was now won by the LibDems - but i know that's not very likely.Hmm

Iliveinalighthousewiththeghost · 13/09/2016 22:09

He has the face of a freshly wanked cock
Come on now. Have some respect for freshly wanked cocks. He's not as good looking as one. Grin.
Seriously though
. They (Sam Cam and Dave) look like 2 wooden spoons to me.

Feminazi · 13/09/2016 22:11

New host of Bake a Off?

Contestant on CBB?

Stevefromstevenage · 13/09/2016 22:13

This all seems like a well orchestrated plan for him to host the new GBBO

DailyMailEthicalFail · 14/09/2016 10:46

oh, LOOK EVERYONE,
out just today a Report saying he was responsible for the rise of ISIS

co-incidental timing? Shurely Shome Mishtake!

DailyMailEthicalFail · 14/09/2016 10:48

Portia you were right

Scandal, according to Foreign Affairs Select Committee!

Inkanta · 14/09/2016 11:22

He's really getting it in the neck this morning. Many MPs are now all attacking and blaming him about Libya.

What's that about all of a sudden. Strange timing just as he takes his bat and ball home?

PortiaCastis · 14/09/2016 11:27

Ho hum.
Got out before the shite hit the fan
Knew there was an ulterior motive. Wonder what his PR will tell him to say to the media?

tribpot · 14/09/2016 11:31

Now with the departure of Mel & Sue, Dave and Sam would make a lovely couple to present Bake Off?

I would like it if he spent his retirement doing charitable works, although I think it's more likely he'll spend it fox hunting.

PortiaCastis · 14/09/2016 13:50

Possibly he could volunteer at a baby group putting toys back into prams, of course this would be when he isn't on a bullingdon boy pal's yacht

Iliveinalighthousewiththeghost · 14/09/2016 17:06

"He's really getting it in the neck this morning.".
Ahhh. Poor little rich boy. Hmm.

PortiaCastis · 14/09/2016 18:06

My heart pumps piss for the poor bugger

BabarityOfRoses · 14/09/2016 18:08

Better than being the pig who got it in the mouth Ilive

DiegeticMuch · 14/09/2016 18:19

Same as senior Labour and LibDem MPs who quit - he'll get a cushy boardroom number, and a book deal. They're all the same, pretty much.

QuintessentialShadow · 14/09/2016 20:57

He would be well suited to run a soup kitchen. Or a Food bank.
Some seasonal work as santa claus thrown in for good measure.

tribpot · 14/09/2016 20:59

I agree, I think a few shifts in his local food bank would be instructive.

0pti0na1 · 14/09/2016 21:33

Not the food bank and Santa on the same day though. Food banks suddenly get more volunteers at Christmas compared to the rest of the year.
