I feel so sad for that poor baby and angry that the mother left the kids that way. It's the saddest thing I've read in a long time

This is so fucked up on so many levels.

A 62 year old woman with a 6 year old, 3 year old and a 13 day old baby. All conceived via IVF using her dead husband's sperm.

They were left in a car for 40 minutes with the windows done right up in 80 degree heat in Florida while the mum went to get her phone fixed after the 6 year old smashed it that morning.

When the baby started crying he battered her to death. According to various reports I've read today, her skull was turned to pulp, she was smashed off the roof of the car, hit in the face, thrown about like a rag doll and dropped on the floor.

When the mum returned the boy told her that he had hurt the baby and it was serious and the mum ignored him, drove to another shop and went in there for 30 minutes. It was only when they finally got home she sought help for the baby with her neighbour who is a nurse. The baby was dead.

Apparently, not confirmed but the boy was not happy about a new baby coming and there was an unexplained fire at the family home just days before she was born.

Clearly there are many issues going on but it's absolutely sickening to think a 6 year old child could do this to a baby. Sickening.

It certainly sounds like there were some very serious issues within the family.

The 6 year old responding to a crying baby in the way he did is heartbreaking. What had he seen or been on the receiving end of to think that's the way to deal with a distressed child.

I hope the siblings get all the help they need. I can imagine that in years to come the enormity of the 6 year olds actions will become apparent to him and that will be an awful lot for him to cope with.

I have no words about the mother.

That 6 year old probably has no hope of a normal life, however you look at it.

To react with such violent ferocity to a live baby, he must already be significantly disturbed, psychologically and emotionally.
From what- or by who, I dread to think.

When he's older, he'll probably never remember a time in his life, when he wasn't directly responsible for the brutal death of another person, his little sister.
If therapy doesn't work, he is lost.
If it does, how will he ever process what he's done?

I'm desperately sorry for them all.

The mother though, I can't even articulate the disgust for her.

That is utterly devestating and heartbreaking.
Poor little innocent tiny baby.
He can't be charged for her murder as he's too young, but soneone should be. I hope they throw the mother in jail and throw the key away.
Another sad fact is that. It will one day dawn on the little boy what he has done and he'll have to live with it.
If he cant be charged though. Surely he should be mentally evaluated.

The reaction of the 6 year old was to the baby's crying. He is a very young child himself, the heat in the car must have been awful and he had no idea how to stop the very stressful screaming.

The mother's behaviour is very strange. Her husband has died, she gave birth 13 days ago and she sounds very unwell to me.

Appalling situation for everyone

Wow, it seems v unlikely that that little boy wasn't exposed to tgat kind of violence himself. Poor kids and poor poor baby.

She deserves to live out her days in jail or a mental hospital
