You are missing the point entirely - she started taking the rip out of celebrities which was groundbreaking at the time. She wasn't bitchy she was taking a crack at them and us culture. She was an amazing talent and delivered such clever observational comedy.

A very clever and talented woman.

EnriqueTheRingBearingLizard · 02/07/2016 21:18

I'll remember her for her comedy but mostly for the poignant scenes she wrote in the Royle Family.

I'll not forget how they set up Nanna in her bed at the back of the living room, or the scene between Denise and her Dad when she goes into labour and they're sat on the bedroom floor. Beautiful writing and so well played.

Caroline certainly had her burdens in life and has gone far too soon.

May she rest in peace.
A super talent.
Brilliantly funny actress.
Way too young to die.
Sad

dwinnol · 02/07/2016 21:58

So sad, she was a huge talent. Dady Bavib still makes me rofl

MyMurphy · 02/07/2016 22:40

Debbie McGee has issued a lovely statement about her.

ThumbWitchesAbroad · 03/07/2016 06:52

Very sad, and a huge shock. RIP to her, condolences to her family. Sounds like she had a strong predisposition to cancer, but still awful.

Bloody disease. Angry

BoGrainger · 03/07/2016 08:00

Very sad. I was as shocked as I was at Victoria Wood dying. Two amazing comedians lost within a few months of each other and before their timeSad

MrsSchulman · 03/07/2016 08:19

The Debbie McGee thing was funny as they had been together for years and years and had a real marriage. If they had only been married for ten minutes it wouldn't have been the same.

She had also worked as his assistant for ages, hadn't she?
