The comments under the article and letter brought tears to my eyes.

Awful. I too left teaching a few years ago for similar reasons. So sad. I do hope the pendulum swings back towards nurturing the whole child one day, rather than creating a datasheet.

It's very sad and only going to get worse I fear with the drive to force all schools to become academies.
