Really awful, harrowing report just now on the bbc. A passer by managed to save a 3 month old baby. Sad

My heart goes out to the family and friends of the deceased.
What a brave man Davitt Walsh was.
The bravery of the father too- he could have escaped, apparently, but went down with his boys.
Absolutely Heroic.
In Leinster the pronounciation of the baby's name would be Ree Knock.
Ulster Irish is pronounced differently.
Unimaginable tragedy.
And the wee boy's last words to his Mum before he died.
May they rest in peace and may their family find strength and happier times in the future.

It sounded like the baby's mum pronounced it Reena in the reports today, they had voice recordings from the funeral.

So so sad. This is one story that will stay with me. A reminder that life is so fragile, and it can all change in a matter of seconds.

Liz I heard it on tv news.
Ulster Irish pronounciations are very different to my Leinster Irish.
May they rest in peace.
