it achieves nothing. so the NOTW publishes the name and address of a convicted child killer in this instance. The local vidulanti mob move in and start protesting outside his house, throwing bricks, smashing windows, putting things through the letter box, and then said individual is escorted out the back by police and taken to ... where? to the next town where the NOTW will then find out where he is, ana again will publish his details, only next time, he might not be so quick to call the police, next time, he might get away on his own, to somewhere where no-one knows where he is, where the police don't know where he is and can't keep track of him, thus increasing the possibility that he might re-offend. Oh yeh and once he's escorted out of the house the local mob then torches the house, thus ensuring that, not only can he not move back there, but that the councel can't use it to house someone who is also genuinely in need of a house, very bright - not.
Sara's law is a stupid idea IMO. if they start publishing the whereabouts of known paedofiles, then it will just lead to more and more instances like the one that played out this week.
I don't believe that paedofiles should necessarily be let out, but fact is, they are, and it's the judicial system that decides what happens to them, not the local mob - two wrongs don't make a right.
