A pregnant woman has been attacked in London and lost her baby. Police fear she was deliberately targeted.

This story has really shocked me; I'm not pregnant or hoping to be but it's really got to me Sad. That poor poor woman, what a horrendous situation. How very cruel.

That's disgusting Sad

Poor woman my heart hurts just reading about this bloody awful.
I read it was domestically motivated so thought they'd arrest quickly which I'm glad they have.
My only hope is that the poor lady wasn't aware for that hour she was left waiting and was out if it I can't bear to think of her knowing what was happening for all that time.
Rip poor baby xx

EeyoresTail · 18/06/2015 07:29

Apparently the first call wasn't classed as a high priority. Given she was heavily pregnant I would have thought anything affecting her would have been classed as high priority. That poor lady! I hope she had someone with her for that hour. It doesn't bear thinking about.

Gileswithachainsaw · 18/06/2015 07:35

I'm shocked. an hour fir an ambulance?

those sick sick people who attacked her.i hope they rot in jail fir years and years to come.

Flowers my deepest sympathies to her and to all her family.

so very sorry for your loss xx

What a terrible story. As mentioned after the horrific crime, for the ambulance service not to turn up for over an hour just worsened the situation. The baby was just a few weeks away from starting its life, I cannot imagine what sort of evil person could do such a thing Angry

25 years ago, on a Sunday in London, I dialled 999 for an ambulance (I witnessed an RTA) and got an answering machine. Even the 999 operator couldn't believe it.

ShipShapeAhoy · 18/06/2015 11:10

This story brought tears to my eyes as I walked home yesterday and I'm welling up again now. I don't know how those two men will be able to live with themselves after doing this.

ThumbWitchesAbroad · 18/06/2015 12:57

Shipshape - sadly, I think if they were the sort of people who would feel remorse for what they've done, they wouldn't have done it in the first place.

As we don't yet know the full details of the situation, it would be wrong to speculate too much but my gut is going with it being personal, DV-related and probably down to someone deciding that they didn't want that poor woman to be a mother. Whether that "someone" was one of the thugs who attacked her, or they were "hired thugs" I don't know - but either way, remorse isn't going to be something they're familiar with :(

Lagoonablue · 18/06/2015 16:53

Man arrested is father of the dead child. What an utter c*nt. I never use that word usually but it is the only one I can find that goes near to my feelings towards this excuse of a man.

He is a teaching assistant apparently! Surely not. FFS.

ThumbWitchesAbroad · 18/06/2015 16:57

Oh dear, that is what I feared might be the case. Fucking shit bastard. Angry

BertieBotts · 18/06/2015 16:57

Well I hope he bloody won't be any more! :( Poor woman.

Gileswithachainsaw · 18/06/2015 17:02

I hope he's never ever allowed near another child ever again! !! Angry

ThumbWitchesAbroad · 18/06/2015 17:04

I hope he's banged up for some rather long time!

SophieHatters · 18/06/2015 18:29

God how horrifying.

Finola1step · 18/06/2015 18:31

That poor woman. It is inexcusable that an ambulance did not arrive. I know that area well and the situation is only made worse by the fact that she was less than a few minutes away by ambulance from Kings College Hospital. A hospital with incredible A&E dept and neonatal care. What a terrible tragedy.

PHANTOMnamechanger · 18/06/2015 20:14

oh my god how utterly sick can you be to do that. I hope he never sees the light of day again. May that poor woman have lots and lots of loving support around her as she begins her long process of physical and emotional healing.
RIP darling baby.

PHANTOMnamechanger · 18/06/2015 20:15

He's a TA?????? Shock

Jinglebells99 · 18/06/2015 20:32

I had read that Malorie Bantala was a teaching assistant. I hadn't read that he was?

PHANTOMnamechanger · 18/06/2015 22:16

BBC news website says he is the TA. Unbelievable! Sad

HelenF350 · 18/06/2015 22:58

This is one of the most horrific things I have ever read. That poor woman and her innocent baby. There are no words.
