the policeman in charge was very keen to point out that however unbelievable it sounded it was in fact true, I think he was concerned that the mother/parents would be in some way thought badly of when they were in fact distraught

i am shcked by how the family is immediately labelled 'dysfunctional' and 'chaotic' and the parents put under suspicion by some of you

I was expressing my horror at the manipulative and sly perpertrator...his cynicism which is something that you can only fully appreciate when you read of this kind of thing..it is hard to comprehend that warped cleverness exists..not doubting it however for one moment

gives a whole new meaning to "Monster Under The Bed" doesn't it...

Makes me shiver. Poor girl

I know what some 12 year old girls are like and I wonder if this wasn't the abusive relationship that it is portrayed to have been. If my dd (who is nearly 12) had a man abusing her every night I think I would notice him under the bed when I went in to wake her up, or messed around generally in her room - I also think she would have told me at least something or her behaviour would have changed in a way that I would have noticed. When did the mother change her sheets?

I am not labelling anyone as dysfunctional, I just know that some young girls are very flattered by the attention of older boys. I am sure that I would know without any doubt, if there was a man upstairs right now hidden under dds bed. What he did was an utter disgrace, but I don't think we know enough about this case to comment - I am sure that there is more to it than meets the eye.

but the fact of an adult man having a sexual relationship with a twelve year old girl is abusive

she is vulnerable by her age

and as i said the police were at great pains to point out that there was no back story amazing as it might seem

from what i have seen of this article it sounds as if this man befriended the young girl and used his manipulation to seduce her (makes me sick to use that term) she was a willing particpant in what happened it seems, that is why his sentance was so low.

i was also shocked that the parents wouldn'y have realised but i have a 13 year old sister and she would scream bloody murder if my mum went anywhere near her room.

to me this man's audacity makes him the most dangerous predatory peadophile i have read of recently and as such his sentance should have been much MUCH higher

"to me this man's audacity makes him the most dangerous predatory peadophile i have read of recently and as such his sentance should have been much MUCH higher "

I agree with that
