Has anyone watched The Detectives on BBC2? [Warning: it's about serious sex crimes so may be triggering]

I just wanted to point this out to Mnetters in case they haven't spotted it, I watched the first episode earlier and was gripped. It can be hard to watch, it follows the serious sex crime unit in Manchester, following up both recent and historical sex offences. That makes it sound really grim, but it mainly follows the police procedure and how they are specially trained etc. It's really reassuring to see officers believing victims and actually following everything up.

I don't work for the BBC btw! I just thought I'd share and would be interested to hear what other people think. I've posted here instead of in the TV bit as it's relevant to what's constantly in the news.

I saw tonights which was the 2nd of three. The last one is one tomorrow night and I now plan to sit and watch.

I am intending to watch the first one on iplayer now too.

It was a bit grim in places but yes it was reassuring to see them working for the victims.

Yeah the first one gave me chills when they discoverd the wall with graffiti in Ray's flat - you'll see it's exactly how Cathy had described it.

That wall was really gross. I saw it (bearing in mind I have not seen the first episode yet) as almost a trophy wall. Its almost as if he had that wall as a reminder and to boost his sick ego.

Just vile and creepy and shocking that all these years later it was still there and completely visable.

My chin was on my chest as they removed the wallpaper. After all these years still tHere.
I found it very interesting the way they've developed the interviewing style. Didn't realise it was on again tonight.

Totally twirl I guess it completely fits with the Savile thing of being completely invincible - he probably felt there was no reason to get rid of it, he would never be caught.

I wonder what goes through their minds as all the cases are laid out infront of them. It was his 3 days of no comment that really pissed me of and then saying he needed a lie down! FGS

The young lad being done for rape looked really shocked when he was charged. I couldnt work out if his stutter was shock and fear or a stutter he had anyway. He lied too about his phone but he got caught out by that.

Yes, you almost felt sorry for him if it was a real stutter, as prison could be really tough for him. But as the detective pointed out, he still didn't think he had done anything wrong.
