I was totally shocked at the complete disregard of the Farpak company for any notion of decency but hopefully this is a bit of good news!

"A new fund is being set up to help the thousands of families affected by the collapse of the Farepak hamper firm.
The Minister for Consumer Affairs, Ian McCartney, said the Farepak Response Fund was being established with help from York-based charity Family Fund.

He said Tesco had pledged £250,000 and called on other firms to help.

Swindon-based Farepak ran a savings scheme for 150,000 people for vouchers and Christmas hampers, but collapsed in October without offering compensation.

In another development, Sainsbury's has agreed that Farepak customers can get 25% of the value of their savings in Sainsbury's vouchers."

misdee · 07/11/2006 12:24

lol, no we have had dinner at my sisters places and at MIL's, never paid for it.

not yet naily. i have a loan finishing after xmas so will get things sorted after then.

cod, when we did own our own place, we didnt have any heating for the 1st year. so we saved, used park vouchers, and got the CH put in just before dd1 arrived. hot water was heated by electric thingy.

misdee · 07/11/2006 12:28

i looked at those hampers once. just the once. and decided i didnt need 10 cans of corned beef, a fray bentos pie, 2 boxes of broken biscuits etc etc.

and OMG have you ever looked at the booze ones? how much do people drink? i assume people who get those have big xmas parties and lots of family.
