Why would I ever need to be paid to LOOK at Labour's record, their sheer negativity while in opposition (and during this election), and work out for myself that getting that same party back with their MP's (and clearly voters) in total denial of that record - will be a total disaster for me and mine, never mind the country?
Equality rhetoric now of 'helping the poorest' should be backed up by a politicians record in power, and I look at that record and realise why inequality rose under 13-years of Labour.
If you can't raise up the living standards and life chances of the poorest when;
- Government spending rose from an annual £324 bil in 1997 to a pre crash £686 billion.
- The Tax Credit policies/bill put on an upward trajectory from £6 billion in 2002 to £30 billion now.
- Welfare Spending up by a fifth in real terms, all together far larger than the rest of Europe - then SOMETHING is wrong with those policies.
The 1997 to 2013 Labour policies on immigration, education, indigenous employment and, housing - over laid with their record on welfare/benefits - shows to me a clear record of keeping the poorest down of welfare/benefit dependancy, not trying to lift them up.
If that M.O. failed the poorest when a government has £trillions to blow, how can it work with a current £87 billion annual deficit/overspend and £1.5 trillion of National Debt?
And looking at the Labour Manifesto and key policies, it just looks like an expensive Labour apology to the poorest for their previous 13-years, while letting the rest of the economy (and everyone NOT on the Minimum Wage/Zero Hours) go to hell on a hand cart.
Where is the future of this country in that?
