I work in a tall building, so always take my bag with me when I leave my desk.

I just have this image of the building being evacuated, no time to go back to my desk, and being stuck, halfway across london, with no money, credit cards or mobile phone!

It seems a bit silly, but I do start to stress now if I am away from my desk and don't have my bag.

Anyone else made changes to their routine or just things that make you feel better?

I'm London born and bred and gave birth to ds at tommy's 4 hours before the first bomb went off.

dp went home just before they went off and had to walk back to us when he woke. then back to kentish town when we stayed in another night. we bought ds home in a cab friday evening past two of the bomb sites. he was admitted to uch ICU the next morning. those two hospitals, which both took in the dead and injured carried on functioning OK.

We did too. I couldn't have any of the news tolds to me, or on around me while ds was in ICU/special care or for a month after as it was too much to process.

since then it's been business as usual, except I am much more involved in and alert to anything that can help resolve the causes of the bombings.

my particular nightmare is not another bomb, there will be I'm sadly sure and we all take our chances. who would have thought of poor Lockerbie, for example? my particular nightmare came to me in that cab ride home up bloomsbury. i just thought 'oh god, please don't make him have to go for a soldier when he's grown'

it all seemed a portent of bigger battles and i wish I could do more to influence the way we make war/peace.
