Apparently. Obviously, I have no idea whatsoever if any of this is true.

I would have thought somone who had had repeated orthopaedic surgery would be extremely nimble with a pair of crutches and would think of that before they resorted to crawling across the tarmac, or to the toilet!

bundle · 19/10/2006 09:45

wouldn't they have an en suite, instead of a potty/bedpan?

wannaBe1974 · 19/10/2006 10:03

he was married to Linda for years, a rare thing in the world of celebrity where most of them step in and out of marriage like you or I would step in and out of a lift. They did things together, their children adore him, he was shattered when she died. I think that if there was any domestic violence, there would have been speculation about it before now - these people have people working for them - someone would have said something, but nothing.

Drugs and alcohol are a big part of the life of a musician, so I wouldn't be surprised if that were all true, but then the beatles were renouned for having had issues with drugs in the past, so it's nothing we didn't really already know.

They had a lawyer on 5 live this morning who said that it may have all come about like this now to force paul to settle more quickly so as to get his name out of the spotlight.

KathyDCLXVI · 19/10/2006 10:17

They make Charles and Diana look like models of restraint and dignity, don't they?

tortoiseshell · 19/10/2006 10:36

I'm amazed at this thread. Why does everyone hate HM so much? I personally can't stand PM. Wasn't he really unpopular within the Beatles, and wasn't his marriage to Linda really unpopular at the time? I seem to remember reading that it was only latterly that Linda was accepted by the general public, and the other Beatles.

I've no idea if these allegations are true or not, but I'm totally amazed that everyone assumes HM is lying, and if she isn't, then she should just 'keep quiet for the sake of their daughter'. If they are true, then perhaps it would help other women to make a stand against abusive husbands, and if they aren't true then presumably they will be discredited in court. But for a woman who is experienceing domestic violence, reading this condemnation and disbelief (and phrases like 'old cow' ' I feel sorry for HIM' 'I don't care' 'I can't think too badly of him') is hardly going to give confidence to them to get out, and to tell someone. In a bullying environment, they need to know they'd be listened to.

Sorry for going on, I just hate this 'Paul McCartney is a saint, Heather Mills is a devil' stuff.

LieselVonTrappDoor · 19/10/2006 10:52

Funny as well that theyre using the same lawyers as Charles & Diana did. Maybe Dianas lawyers use the practice of behave like a manipulative bitch and you'll get millions.

UCM · 19/10/2006 11:22

Well, I think that HM has done alright for herself. IF she used to flog it for a grand a night, marrying PM was the best business move she has ever made. I mean assuming a grand for every time and that she didn't have to bonk him every night, it was worth a fortune. She is goodlooking, fit, gorgeous beautiful baby girl. In her prime, will be a multi millionairess, be bonking someone her own age who is also fit & good looking blah blah blah, she it set up for life. Not daft really. You have to admire her.

ScareyCaligulaCorday · 19/10/2006 11:50

Oh FFS how many people on this thread actually personally know Paul McCartney and Heather Mills? And even if you did know them, who ever knows what goes on in someone else's marriage?

None of us know anything about these uninteresting people, except what the media choose to tell us with their slant, and their agenda. But ooh, the mysogyny that that woman arouses, is really quite shocking.

merlotmama · 19/10/2006 22:21

Not mysogny, Scarey, that's hatred of all women....it's only HM I can't suffer.

Tortoiseshell:If you are attention-seeking and have been caught out spinning stories, as she has, why should anyone believe her now?

Also, I don't remember PM being unpopular in the Beatles, nor was his marriage to Linda unpopular, (tho' I guess some fans had their hearts broken). What people did dislike was the way he wanted Linda to be involved with the music side of things.

My theory is that he's just one of these people who feel incomplete without a partner....and he was completely taken in by HM.

SecondhandRose · 20/10/2006 07:51

Wasn't there some story about her saying she was sexually abused by her swimming teacher? Was that another yarn of hers?

UCM · 20/10/2006 09:48

Merlotmama, thank you for clearing that up, I couldn't be arse to look it up, but now I know what it means

expatinscotland · 20/10/2006 09:52

To be fair to Diana, however, she was a silly girl of barely 20 when she married Charles, who was old enough to know better. She was never the brightest light in the harbour, and you can see that her dim little soul seemed to love Charles - the way she'd look at him all doe-eyed when they were engaged. She was never hurting for money, to be sure.

Yet he cheated on her from the get go and she was sprogged up w/i two months of marrying.

HM, on the other hand, was a golddigging liar from the get go, in her 30s when she took on Macca.

expatinscotland · 20/10/2006 09:53

Macca's been caught at airports w/cannabis for years.

He makes no secret of that.

Cannabis is hardly crack, though.
