Just heard this on the news. She was only 40 and had cancer.

So sad .

I have lost 3 friends/aquaintances in the last 3 years to breast cancer (one only last week), all under 45 and have another 2 still fighting.

Heathcliffscathy · 14/04/2004 12:43

this is awful as soon as i read the title of the thread i knew it was breast cancer...gloria hunniford is big campaigner isn't she...how utterly dreadful to outlive your child...and how awful for her poor boys.

Sonnet · 14/04/2004 12:46

I am so shocked and so so sad - her poor family and those 2 little boys....

How dreadful for you luckymum - how do you cope with it? - don't answer if it is too hard - I am thinking of you.

Kayleigh · 14/04/2004 12:47

oh no, that is so so sad. Her poor family.

She is only a year older than me. Makes you so aware of your own mortality.

popsycal · 14/04/2004 14:04

Oh my goodness. Did not realise she was ill. Veyr very sad.

luckymum · 14/04/2004 14:15

How did that grin get there...I feel awful , so sorry.

LIZS · 14/04/2004 14:20

What a shock. I find it paticularly disturbing when people of my "generation" die suddenly or are taken ill. She always seemed such a genuine person on screen and not one to court the public eye.

Heathcliffscathy · 14/04/2004 14:21

luckymum don't worry, we knew what you meant.

Vee33 · 14/04/2004 14:22

I'm really shocked - I didn't know she was ill

gingerbear · 14/04/2004 14:48

poor Caron. Poor boys. It is heartbreaking when someone so young dies in this way.

JulieF · 14/04/2004 23:06

I couldn't beleive it when I saw it on the news, I never knew she was ill.

A close family member died a few years ago of breast cancer aged 36. She left behind 2 children then aged 6 and 7.

It can happen to anyone and it is scary.
