Armed Forces and Ebola

Hello, I've never posted before, which may well reflect my desperation. My husband is being sent to Sierra Leone and I have overcome the shock (he only just arrived back from somewhere else) but I am really very worried he might die. Either through disease (as an engineer this logically is unlikely) or through violence of local gangs robbing the resources they are bringing with them. I'm finding it hard to put my mind at rest and accept our situation and carry on right now. I wondered if anyone could help me. Xx

My darling cousin is going as well.

It's truly terrifying.

Big loves x

Just wish I could put my mind at rest.

I have no family in the forces, but to a certain extent I understand your fears. Sending good wishes to your dh on his tour and fingers crossed he will stay healthy. Easy for me to say but try not to worry for 24 hours a day, it won't help the situation or you, try and find things to occupy yourself so you can take your mind of it sometimes.

Thank you. I suppose the trouble is I want the impossible. Either to know exactly what's in store or to time travel. The children are doing better than me, thankfully, but then again they know less about Ebola xx

When does he go OP? How does he feel about it?

I feel useless, I don't know what to say to help you. It must be so difficult for you all.

He doesn't want to go. He always is so professional and willing but this time he fears the unknown. He's told me he's worried about dying which really worries me. They're off Thursday. Just thank you to strangers who reply and it does give a little comfort. Xx

&If you go to the list of topics, then find "in the club", then click on more , it's where there are a lot of forces wives ect. You may find someone there with the same worries or you could start your own thread there.hope this will help you and your fears
