NomDePlume · 29/09/2006 10:02

Dog Cock ?

Tasty

NotABraBurningOtter · 29/09/2006 10:03

omg i was virtually sick then

NomDePlume · 29/09/2006 10:04

Your DP is a vet isn't he, Otter ?! There must a few free dinner opportunities there ?

fattiemumma · 29/09/2006 10:04

why would you go INTO a penis emporium in the first place though??

ok its not to our western tastes but if we went to india im sure there would be a fair few raised eyebrows if we started eating some rump steak.

Furball · 29/09/2006 10:06

Bulls perineum?

An aborted reindee foetus?

Pass me a bucket!

ComeOVeneer · 29/09/2006 10:17

An aborted reindee foetus. One assumes that it was done deliberately just to provide the dish. I bet if you were to dig a bit deeper it would raise quite a few questions of moral/legal standards.

each to their own surely. Honestly cant see what the problem is (Apart from the tiger penis that is am a bt cynical about the old age thing for some reason). Waste not want not and all that.

mummydear · 29/09/2006 10:58

Do feel a bit sick, but on the other hand this is what pople like the other side of the world !

I was in Vietnam many years ago awith DH and he got a bit upset about seeing a dog in a cage outside a resturant, I was upset as well , but we were in a foreign country and that is their way of life.

We have dogs in our homes and are part of the family but we will eat cow/ox which is sacred in other countries.

Not very pleasant but we don't have to eat it .

expatinscotland · 29/09/2006 10:59

That's rank.

2Happy · 29/09/2006 11:04

OMG, but I have to admit that dh and a friend of his once made a bull's penis stew out of a two fat ldies cookery book. The recipe actually involved "skimming the scum off the surface during cooking". The friend was gipping too much to swallow, but dh claims he managed to swallow a mouthful (and that's a sick emoticon, rather than envy, BTW!!)

expatinscotland · 29/09/2006 11:06

The Two Fat Ladies are enough to put anyone off eating for life.

Their recipies are for hte most boakatastic stuff you wouldn't even feed a dog.

MamaGlamourPuss · 29/09/2006 11:08

I love to watch the two fat ladies (think one of htem is dead now?) and I even hav3 a book! Only ever made the scones though.

I bet there's a bit of pig penis in sausages all you meat eaters

2Happy · 29/09/2006 11:09

I know, they are revolting. dh also scarily pro-Hugh Fearnly Whittingthingy, who seems to enjoy cooking calves legs, chicken's feet, and other 'interesting' cuts of meat.

MamaGlamourPuss · 29/09/2006 11:11

oh I love Hugh Fizzle Wizzle but I wouldn't eat most of his food (remember the poor little calf's bollocks?)

expatinscotland · 29/09/2006 11:12

That's the other boak-inducing cook, Hugh Too-F*cking-Long-Surname.

He never actually cooks any of that stuff, either, just sort of heats it up and eats it raw.

2Happy · 29/09/2006 11:13

And like the 2 fat bints, he hardly looks like a clean, hygeinic chef-type. Surely that should ring alarm bells when thinking of following recipes??!

Callisto · 29/09/2006 12:12

The Chinese have an appalling human rights record so I would reckon it is a fair bet to say all of the animals on the menu had pretty gruesome lives and deaths. Having said that, our ancestor would have eaten dogs willies without a second thought. Bulls pizzles were considered a delicacy in the middle ages and then there is sweet breads which are still available today if you know the right butcher.

NomDePlume · 29/09/2006 12:13

Sweetbreads are digestive glands

Callisto · 29/09/2006 12:32

I thought they were the dogs bollocks myself...

Sorry, couldn't resist, I actually thought they were pigs or maybe bulls testicles? What are sweet meats then?

NotActuallyAMum · 29/09/2006 12:33

Expat's "Hugh Too-F*cking-Long-Surname"

Hilarious!

Callisto · 29/09/2006 12:33

Yes, I've heard about the live monkeys brain. Some people are very sick indeed.

ComeOVeneer · 29/09/2006 12:37

Pruni, I thought that was just a myth propagated by that Indiana Jones' film.
